Snowman Season, Itty Bitty Christmas, Christmas Card, 2019 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog

I still have the "Snow Front" set sitting out.  I am waiting to be totally inspired by it.  Today I came up with this card.  It's a pretty simple and quick card, which is something I've been leaning towards lately.  It's starting to get to be a busy time for me and it's only going to get worse until mid December. But I'm hoping that I will have some days that I will have extra time to just sit and make cards with layers, lots of layers because that is what I used to love to make!!!  We will see!

So for today I have this card to share with you.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.  On top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Whisper White that was textured using the "Eyelet Lace" embossing folder.  It was the only current folder that sort of looked like it could pass for falling snow.  But once I put the card all together I could clearly see that it does not look like snow at all.  Stampin' Up! needs to bring back a snow background embossing folder.

I stamped the tree from the "Snow Front" set using black Memento ink.  The piece measures 4-1/4" x 2-1/8".  After stamping the tree, I stamped the "mound" in front of the tree.  I'm not sure what that image is supposed to be but today it's a mound!  I used Seaside Spray ink to stamp it.  Then I stamped the bird using Real Red ink.  And for the final step, I sponged in the background using Seaside Spray ink.  I taped the piece to a 4-3/8" x 2-1/4" piece of Seaside Spray card stock.  I set that piece in place on top of the textured piece using Dimensionals.

Then I stamped the words from the "Itty Bitty Christmas" set using black Memento ink.  I punched them out using the "Classic Label" punch. I set the words in place using Dimensionals on the left side and a dot of glue on the right side.  And the card was done.

After seeing it on here while I'm typing up my instrctions, I can see that perhaps I should have used Seaside Spray card stock for the base of the card.  But it is what it is and I do like it this was, so be it!

Thank you SO much for stopping by today,
Wanda
