To a Wild Rose, Wonderful Moments, Birthday Card

I was having some fun tonight with shapes!  Today's card was a very fun card to make and here's how I did it.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.  On top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Old Olive card stock.  I stamped the leaves from the "To a Wild Rose" set from that layer. I didn't want to waste any card stock, so I made sure I had room for the "Stitched Square" too.  All of that openness is hidden behind the textured Whisper White piece.  I stamped those leaves using Old Olive ink and then I die cut them out.  For the square I used two squares to get that fun frame.

I stamped the flower image from the "To a Wild Rose" set using So Saffron ink. I set the flower up in my Stamparatus and I inked up the image twice. I used the second flower image in the set and So Saffron ink.  I also colored the flower a little using the light So Saffron Blends pen.  I colored the center of the flower using the dark Calypso Coral Blends pen.  I colored the center of the flower and some highlighted areas on the flower with the Wink of Stella pen.

The words are from the "Wonderful Moments" set using Old Olive ink.  I die cut them with the smallest Stitched oval die.  And the scalloped So Saffron layer was the smallest in the set. I taped the two together.

To assemble the card, I taped the larger layers together.

Then I added the square using Dimensionals.

The flower was added using tape on the parts that touch the square and Dimensionals on the rest.

I added the leaves using Dimensionals.

The words were set in place with tape in the center and a Dimensional on each end.  And that was it.

This was a quick and fun card to make.  I'm trying to lean a bit more towards the fall colors.  Roses in the fall?  Does it really matter?  No, as long as it's pretty!  LOL

Thank you SO much for stopping by today,
Wanda
