Floral Essence, Beautiful Friendship, Birthday Card

This card didn't turn out as well as I hoped it would.  I think it's the "Perennial Essence" Designer Series Paper (DSP) that is the problem.  It's just not blending in as well.  The pretty color that made the Balmy Blue pop is covered up.  So, it is what it is.  Let's just say it's "interesting"!  LOL

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White.  This card is folded at the top and opens at the bottom.

I textured a 3-3/4" x 4-3/4" piece of Balmy Blue using the "Eyelet Lace" embossing folder.  I taped that piece in place.  On top of that I taped a 1" x 4-3/4" piece of the DSP. I think a strip of Night of Navy card stock would work just fine.  Probably better.

I stamped the words on a piece of Whisper White card stock.  They are from the "Beautiful Friendship" set.  I used Night of Navy ink to stamp them. It's pretty dark and almost looks black.  I die cut them with the "Stitched Nested Labels" die.  I also die cut the next size larger using Night of Navy card stock, for the back layer.  I taped those two layers together and set them in place using Dimensionals.

I stamped the flower using the flower from "Floral Essence" set using Balmy Blue ink.  I stamped two and colored them a little using the Balmy Blue light Blends Pen. I punched them out and then I glued the two flowers together.  I set the flower in place using a Dimensional on the left and snail tape on the right side.

Next I stamped two leaves from the same "Floral Essence" set using Pear Pizzazz ink on Whisper White card stock.  I punched them out.  I added tape to the back of the stems and one leaf and set them in place under the flower.

And for the final touch I added one of the fun fuzzy "Perennial Essence Floral Centers" to the middle of the flower.

I would like to redo this in better colors!

Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda
