Happy Birthday Gorgeous, Birthday Card

I do have to say that I had a lot of fun making this card.  I had pieces and was just placing them and seeing what I could come up with.  And here you have it.  You know how you cut a doily in half and then can't find the other half or forget there's a half one stuck in the package?  No, well... you're lucky!!! LOL

I took a folded half-sheet of Calypso Coral for the base of my card.  I also took a 1-1/2" x 5-1/2" piece of the "Petal Garden" Designer Series Paper (DSP) and taped it to a 1-3/4" x 5-1/2" piece of Old Olive card stock.  I added some tape to the side edges (the long sides) and set the doilies in place.  I have hardly any of the center part of the doily showing.  Once I got them in place I added more tape to the back and centered that piece on the card base.

Next I took some pieces of burlap off a length of the Burlap Ribbon and wrapped it around two fingers twice and 3 fingers twice.  While holding on to the ends of the piece, I pulled on the smaller circles so they weren't the same size anymore. Then I set them in place using glue dots.  I added more loops where I thought it was needed.  If you have a piece of that ribbon that is long enough, you might be able to make all the loops at one time.  And if you don't have that ribbon you can always use linen thread or baker's twine. The gold or copper thread will work too.  Whatever you can find to make some fun loops.

Next I stamped the words from the "Happy Birthday Gorgeous" set using black Memento ink.  I die cut them with the stitched oval die and then I die cut an Old Olive oval for the back layer. I set the ovals in place using Dimensionals.  I added some rhinestones, three on the word piece and six elsewhere on the card.  And it was done!!! Oh, I did add a piece of Whisper White card stock to the inside of the card for writing on!

It was fun and a great way to use up strips and pieces of stuff you have sitting around.  Though I have to be honest, doing this does not always produce good results for me!!  I caught a break today!! LOL

Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda
