You're Inspiring, Petal Palate, 2018 Occasions Catalog, Birthday Card

Today was doily day!!! I was in the mood to make a card with a doily and this is what I came up with . It's a very easy card to make. There's very little stamping, it's mostly made up of die cuts.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Rich Razzleberry.  The fold is on the left side (what I refer to as a "normal" card! LOL).  I cut the Very Vanilla 4" x 5-1/4".

I cut a doily in half and added the ribbon looking die cut piece. I had die cut that using Whisper White card stock.  I had run a very thin piece of Pink Pirouette card stock through the loops on the lacy ribbon die cut piece. Not much of it shows, just what you see under the bird.  I was just messing around and thought it would look pretty. It does in real life!

I die cut the branchy pieces using Old Olive and Pear Pizzazz card stock.  I punched out some leaves using Old Olive and Pear Pizzazz card stock.

I stamped the flower and the bird and colored them using the new Blends markers.  I uses Old Olive light and dark for the leaves and I used Rich Razzleberry light and dark for the roses.  I used Pink Pirouette for the birds belly and light and dark Crumb Cake for the upper part of the bird.

The words are from the "You're Inspiring" set.  I stamped them using Always Artichoke ink. I die cut it with the oval die. I also die cut a scalloped oval for a layer.

I taped the ribbon strip to the doily.  I set the doily on the Very Vanilla piece and then I stamped the leaves from the "Petal Palate" set. I used Always Artichoke ink. I stamped off twice before I stamped on the card stock twice.  I did this two more times.

I set my doily piece back on the card stock and set the Old Olive and Pear Pizzazz branch-like pieces behind it. When I liked where they were at, I carefully held them in place and turned the doily over and taped the branches in place.  I slipped in the punched branches after I sponged the edges with Old Olive on both.  I taped the doily to the card front.  Then I set the rose piece in place using Dimensionals. I added the bird and the words using Dimensionals.

I took the Wink of Stella pen and colored over the flowers and the birds belly.  After that was dry, I added pearls to the flowers and then around the card.  I added one on top of the "Happy Birthday" and three below it.

Even with all the pieces on this card, it went together pretty fast. I did have fun making it and I do like how it turned out!

Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda
