Petal Palate, Daisy Delight, 2018 Occasions Catalog

I just couldn't help but play with the "Petal Palate" stamp set and dies today.  It's snowing here in central Minnesota and the poor robins have landed!!!  So I was thinking spring and wanted to play with this set.

This card has a lot of things going on.  First the background of the 3-3/4" x 5" piece of Crumb Cake was textured using the "Seaside" embossing folder.

I cut a piece of cardboard off the box my stamps were delivered in and ripped back the top layer, exposing the ribbing inside.  I stamped VersaMark on the ribbing and embossed it with white and heat set it.  I had cut that strip 1-1/2" x 3-1/2".

I stamped two flowers from the "Daisy Delight" set using Crumb Cake ink. I colored them in using the Crushed Curry marker and a blender pen. I taped the two pieces together and set them aside.

I die cut some leaves and stems from the "Petal Palate" set using Soft Suede, Whisper White and Pear Pizzazz card stock.  I also punched out 3 sets of leaves using the "Leaf Punch" found in the 2018 Occasions Catalog.  I punched them out using Pear Pizzazz card stock and sponged the edges using Pear Pizzazz ink.

I stamped the bird using Soft Suede ink. I colored in the belly using the Cajun Craze marker and a blender pen. I also colored in the top part of the bird using the Crumb Cake maker and a blender pen.

To assemble, I took a folded half sheet of Pear Pizzazz card stock and used that for the base of the card.  Then I added a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Crushed Curry and the embossed Crumb Cake piece went on top of that.

Next I taped the cardboard piece in place and added the flower to it and then began filling in around the flower with the other elements I had punched and die cut out.  I added 3 pieces of the tiny gold sequin mini trim, I glued them in place.  I added a gold/amber tone Faceted Gem to the center of the daisy.  I colored some rhinestones using the bronze "Blends" marker.  I placed them around the card.

I added Dimensionals to the bird, I double stacked them on the tail because of the front part of the bird being on the flower it made the tail stick more flat to the card front.  Added the doubled Dimensional made the tail stand more level.

I wasn't sure what occasion I was going to use this for, so I just left it as it is.  I could add some small wording at the top above the cardboard piece where it looks open or at the bottom right where it is more open.  Or I could just leave it as it is!!

I do like how this card turned out. Once in a while I like to make cards with lots of pieces but most of the time lately I have been leaning towards the quicker easier cards. I LOVE it when I have some time to be creative. So this is from my little mind and it can actually be creative when I have some time to spare!!  LOL

Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda
