Rose Wonder, Flourish Thinlits, 2017 Occasions

I looked at a number of images at Clair's "Clair Daly Creates" blog and when I saw this one, I thought I could make it. Especially when I saw that I had the Perfect Plumb flower already cut out just waiting for me to find something to do with it.  Well, today was the day!!!  You can see Clair's card here.

I used a folded half-sheet of Sahara Sand cardstock for the base of the card. I added a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of "Falling in Love" decorative 12" x 12" paper for the background layer.

I glued the Perfect Plumb flower in place using my waxed paper and glue method.  I put some glue on waxed paper and fold it in half. You do need to make sure the waxed paper is big enough for you image.  Then I take my bone folder and spread the glue around evenly.  I open up the waxed paper. I set the image on top of the glue and I place another piece of waxed paper over the top and press down to get the glue on the back of the image.  I remove the top piece of waxed paper and I take off the image.  I immediately set it in place on the background.  You need to have that background ready to go before you play with the glue!  Throw away the waxed paper so you don't make a mess.

I got to play with the new doilies again too!  I'm hoping to use them up before the end of the 2017 Occasions Catalog expires.  I cut a 2" circle using a piece of decorative paper from the "Falling in Love" 12" x 12" paper pack. Then I set the doily on top with glue. I only glued on the center part.  I set it aside to dry while I wrapped some linen thread around the decorative paper.  Be careful, the paper is more fragile than cardstock.  I tied it in a knot and in that knot I added a 4" folded piece of the vanilla "Lace Trim". I cut the loop on it and angled the ends.  Then I added tape to the back of the 2" trimmed circle and set it in place on the background piece.

The words were from the "Rose Wonder" set.  I stamped them, then the border and I die cut the piece out. I forgot about that piece. I was SO happy that I didn't have to fussy cut that piece!!   I added some pearls around and that was it.

This was such a fun and pretty birthday card.  I have a very special person I'm giving this to.

Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda
