A Hang Your Stocking Coloring Technique

Here is another card I made for Terri's 2016 Occasions Extravaganza.  I wanted a sparkling green stocking but was having trouble getting the green dark enough.  You need to dab the stocking with a paper towel to absorb the wet color. Most of the time you end up with a very light color.  Today I thought I would try some hairspray on it to see if it would hold.  It needed a fixative but I didn't want to use anything with a heavy chemical smell or anything I had to use outdoors.  So hairspray came to mind and it worked!  So what you do is sponge the color on and then add hairspray to set the color and allow it to dry.

I also used the new "Cable Knit" embossing folder.  It's such a thick folder.  You need to mist your card stock first. And you only need one plate when running it through your Big Shot.  It's very fun and cool looking.

I also used some new Washi tapes here too.  I set everything on a paper doily and I added some gold cord for a fun little touch.  Something I don't usually play with.

This was fun to make and it's SO festive looking!

Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda
