A Swirly Bird Timeless Textures and Botanical Builders Birthday Card

I also used the Framelits that go with the "Swirly Bird" set here.  They are the Sweet Sugarplum images.  I was just messing around with the dies and looking in my stash of die cut stuff and put this card together.  I didn't have the "Swirly Scribbles" Framlits pre-cut but everything else was.  I love it when I can just lok at teh stuff I have on hand and add a few elements to it and end up with a fun card.

I am still stuck on those "Timeless Texture" images.  I so LOVE that set.

I have been seeing in comments lately that there are new viewers who are not only new to my blog but new to stamping.  So in light of that I will try to include as much information on my cards as I can remember!!! Please note that I'm getting old and forgetful!!! LOL

So lets begin at the base and work our way to the top.  I started out with a folded half sheet of Whisper White.  I added a piece of the Sweet Sugarplum cut 4" x 5-1/4".  I cut a piece of Whisper White 5" x 3-3/4".

Next I cut out the "Swirly Scribbles" circles.  They are both the same size and both are cut from Sweet Sugarplum card stock.  I set them on top of my white layer to see how I would like them arranged.  Then I took out my Pool Party flower that was cut using the "Botanical Builders" Framelits.  I set it on the circles to see how I would like to place it.  Once I was happy with how it was going to look. I cut out a leaf using Pear Pizzazz card stock.  I set it in place where I thought it would look best.  Then I cut another piece of Whisper White card stock to stamp on because I didn't want to mess up what I had in front of me.  I stamped the circles from the "Swirly Bird" set.  Next I stamped the fluerettes using Pear Pizzazz ink. Then I adhered the die cut pieces on top of the stamped circles.  After that I added the flower using a Dimenisonal with the leaf attached to it.  It makes setting the leaf and flower in place easier.  Well, for me it does. I often set the leaf on the Dimensional and then hover the flower over it to see which way it looks best coming out of the back of the flower. Once that was in place I die cut some pieces for the center of the flower.  I used "Perfect White Accents" for the flower centers.  On the Pool Party flower I colored the center using a Sharpie.  I have a pencil case full of many colors of Sharpies!!  It's so much fun to find one that kind of matched.

The words are from the "Wetlands" set.  I stamped them using Pear Pizzazz ink.  And I think that about covers it!

This was a very fun card to make.  I love playing around with pieces.  I think I'm going to die cut more pieces to have on hand so I can just mix & match and have some fun playing and creating.

Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda
