A Botanical Blossoms and Botanical Gardens Magic Window Technique Card

Today's card was made for the Technique Swap tonight.  I spent a lot of time on this card.  More than I cared to but I wanted to make it and I liked the colors I was using, so how could I not spend the time on it?  You can find the info on how to do this Magic Window Technique here

The decorative paper is from the "Botanical Gardens" 12" x 12" paper pack.  That is where I started when I was beginning this card.  I liked that paper design.  From there I just picked out colors of card stock that complimented it.

I also opted to make mine with circle punched instead of using the corners of the square punches to make the "> and <" openings.

These are fun cards to make.  It took me a while make it , not only because it had a lot of parts, but I was making 9 of them for the swap.
When I finished making the first one I was thrilled with how it turned out and I was excited to make the other 8.  I originally was going to leave the top opening empty but I didn't like how it looked so I thought I would try to add some little flowers from the "Botanical's" framelits to it.  I glued them in place because I thought that taping them in might cause them to loosen up with the opening and closing of the card.  I liked how it looked and I tried hard to get the flowers as centered as I could without getting the flowers on the other side of the opening.  I did want the card to open!!!  I think it added a lot to the center of the that opening and I was happy with the way it turned out.

Have fun making these. I like mechanical cards!

Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda
