A Flower Patch Birthday

I had an extremely busy weekend and I thought about not adding a post to my blog today.  But as I was surfing the net I ran across this pretty card made by Joann at "The Crafty Owl's Blog" and I tried to copy it exactly.  I was not successful.  I did not move my flowers far enough over to the right edge to get the words up there.  But it's okay, I still like it.  I think it was the colors that intrigued me more than where the words were placed.  Though now it looks like the bottom is lacking something!!!  Oh well, it is what it is!!!

The set used here is "Flower Patch".  The colors of ink used are Daffodil Delight, Coastal Cabana, Pear Pizzazz, and Bermuda Bay.  I used black Memento ink for the words.

The base of the card is Coastal Cabana.  I did have to fussy cut the center of the top flower.  There was no die for that.  I had thought that maybe the die had slipped out of the container it came in and was somewhere on my worktable.  I didn't really see a spot for it on the card that they dies are stuck to.  I looked in the catalog and it said there were 11 dies.  I counted and I had 11.  *heavy sigh*  I had to get out my scissors and cut.  UGH!  It's such a chore now since I've been spoiled by punches and dies!!!  Once I got the flower cut out (which took all of less than 60 seconds) I taped it on top of the larger flower.  The larger flower was set in place using Dimensionals.  I added Candy Dots to the center of the flowers and one on the white part of the card.

It really was a quick and simple card to make.  I just LOVE the colors.

Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda
