Greeting Card Kids Halloween Card

Just because you like something SO much doesn't mean you have to use it on every card.  I SO love the Washi tape and as I was finishing up this Halloween card I thought I would add a strip of the orange Washi tape.  As I was assembling the card I saw how ugly it looked on it.  I should have left it off.  I didn't want to try to remove it.  I've had problems with my paper ripping when I've done that.  SO I just left it for you all to see what NOT to do!!! It's not too wide that I can't cover it with a strip of card stock punched with the Ribbon punch.  I will be doing that later and adding it to my card to cover that Washi tap!

So onto the rest of the card.  I used the Greeting Card Kids set (one that I am betting will retire come spring!) and the Delightful Dozen word set.  I masked over the pumpkin on the image and just stamped the words using black StazOn.

I colored in the girl using markers and a blender pen.  I had not colored like that in a while and found it a bit relaxing.  I punched out the girl using the 2-1/2" circle punch and sponged the edges using Pumpkin Pie ink.

I used the Venetian Romance decorative paper on the left side. And of course the Washi tape, ugh!!!  And I added a paper doily behind the little girl image.

It was a fun card to do up until the Washi tape!  Lesson learned.  I think I should put strips of Washi tape on a piece of card stock and trim them down so I can just lay them on my card before I make it permanent and see if I like it or not.  Now why didn't I think of that sooner?  LOL

Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda
