Witches' Brew and Best of Halloween

I was looking for some fun background paper and I ran across this piece (or a part of the piece) in the "Witches' Brew" decorative paper pack.  I trimmed it down and saved the skull and crossbones part.  I turned the scraps over and there was the orange and dots piece!  Such a deal!  I was able to use the scraps.

I stamped the witches hat from the "Best of Halloween" set using VersaMark.  I embossed it in black and cut it out.  I was going to just stamp on the decorative paper and heat set it but I wasn't sure how it would turn out and I didn't want to redo the paper.  I stamped the "Trick or Treat" and layered it.

I added a ribbon to the right side and that was about it.  Not a lot to it but it looks like there's a lot going on!

Labeled Love Piano Keys Card

I saw this card on Terri's display board and I just fell in love with it.  I wanted SO badly to make one.  I had everything but the music wheel so I just HAD to order it.  I suppose I could have found some musical decorative paper but I believe that is in vanilla and not white.  I don't think vanilla piano keys are very attractive!!  The wheel wasn't that expensive anyway so I decided to get it.  I am sure I will find other cards to use it on in the future!

When I started this card I began with the "Word Window" punch and punched out the 10 white "keys" and then 7 black "keys".  I set the white "keys" down on my work surface and taped them together on the back.  I made sure they were as even as I could get them.  Then I added the black "keys".  As I was working on that part of the card I had to stop and ask myself "what are you doing?"  LOL  There were so many little pieces. But once I got them all done the rest of the card was extremely easy.

Next I inked up the wheel and ran it across the Whisper White card stock.  I trimmed it up to 1-1/4" x 4-1/8" and the black layer behind it is cut at 1-3/8" x 4-1/8".  I taped the two pieces and set them aside.  Then I made the "Dotted" background using the "Dotted" embossing folder.  I set the piece in place on the card so I would know where to tie the ribbon.  I added the ribbon and then stamped the Happy Birthday image. It's from the "Labeled Love" set.  It's SO sad, that's the only stamp I've used in that set so far!  I also punched out the Happy Birthday and a piece of Basic Black card stock. I cut the black piece in half and layered it on the top and bottom of the Happy Birthday piece.

I assembled the card.  First I added the Dotted piece and then the keys.  The musical part and the Happy Birthday piece are set in place using Dimensionals.  And there you have it.  An exact copy of the card on Terri's board!!!  I do not know the original designer of this card.  Terri had gotten it in a swap and I didn't see any names on the board.  So if you know who made this card, please let me know so I can give them the credit they are due and a link back to their website.

A Morning Meadow Birthday

I thought this card was SO pretty when I ran across it either off Google images or from a Pinterest search.  I'm guessing it was from a Pinterest search.  You might be able to see the original card here.  It originated from the Stampin' Connection site and you have to be a demonstrator to view cards on that site.

I didn't change anything on this card but the background. The original card was made using the Natural Ivory card stock.  I used some type of natural card stock that I had in my stash.  I thought it was close enough and pretty enough.  It worked for me and that is what mattered today!  LOL

I used the "Morning Meadow" stamp set to make this card.  The "Happy Birthday" came with the set as well as the branch of little blossoms.

First I stamped the flowering branch using the Primrose Petals ink pad.  Then I took my blender pen and removed the ink from the leaves and stems.  I added Wild Wasabi to the leaves and Soft Suede to the branches using markers.  I huffed on the image and stamped it on the card stock.

Next I stamped the large flower on the same card stock (a scrap piece) and punched it out.  I did not clean off my stamp, I just stamped two more flowers on the card stock.

I stamped the "Happy Birthday on a piece of scrap card stock and trimmed it to fit.  Once again I did not clean my stamp and I stamped the words up the card until the stamp was dry.  Then I set the words and flower in place using Dimensionals.  I taped the piece to a half sheet of Primrose Petals card stock and that was it.  SO simple and VERY quick too!

Best of Halloween

I was having some fun playing with the "Best of Halloween" set. I had never purchased any of those images in that set when they were first introduced.  I wanted the haunted house and the owl in the tree but I never bought them.  And now I have smaller versions of them.  I LOVE the smaller versions better.  You can do a lot more with them!

For my card I used Basic Black as the base.  I added a piece of Pumpkin Pie and then a piece of decorative paper from the "Witches' Brew" pack.

I stamped the image on Very Vanilla using black StazOn.  I wanted a moon behind the howl but couldn't find a round stamp to create it.  So I inked up my finger and pressed it in the vicinity of the owl!  What was great about it was how it wasn't exactly perfectly round. The right side looks a little jagged.  I like how it turned out.  And because the ink was extremely wet on my finger it really didn't leave a fingerprint.  I don't think I'd like to be passing my fingerprint out to everyone!!! LOL

The focal piece was set in place using Dimensionals.  But before I added the Dimensionals, I tied a ribbon around the piece and tied a knot.

Such a fun and quick card to make!

Flower Shop White on White

I had a little fun with the Big Shot today.  I used the new "Beautifully Baroque" embossing folder and the "Pretty Print" embossing folder.

I stamped the flowers on Vellum using VersaMark and white embossing powder.  I set them in place using Dimensionals.  And to finish it off I added some large pearls to the center of each flower.

This is an very easy and fun card to make.  And it didn't take long to make at all.  I'm going to be using it for a wedding.

A Labeled Love Birthday

Isn't this a fun black & white card?  It's one I made at Terri's Stamp A Stack.  It was a super easy card to make.

The decorative paper used here is from the "Modern Medley" pack.

The Artisan Label punch is a lot of fun too.  We punched out our stamped image and then we punched a piece of Basic Black card stock.  We cut that black piece in half and taped it to the top and bottom of the stamped piece to give the illusion of having a larger label punch!  Pretty cool, huh? And that's pretty much it.

Halloween Hello Delightful Dozen Mojo Monday

Wow, the title to this post is a mouthful!!! LOL  I wanted to get it all in there and I think I did!  Last night I thought I would play along with the Mojo Monday sketch.  I had a little time on my hands but I didn't get it finished up until a little while ago.

This was a super easy and fun sketch to play with.

I used the Halloween Washi tape for my two strips.  I used the "Witches' Brew" decorative paper for the center strip. The words are from the "Delightful Dozen" stamp set and the skulls and candy corn are from the "Halloween Hello" set.

I used the new Smoky Slate ink pad and stamped off to get a light gray for the background.  I like how the skulls turned out on the background.

This was a lot of fun.  I can see myself making more of these and also using this sketch for other occasions.

Best of Birthdays

My card today is not one of my better works.  I had seen a layout like this and thought I would give it a try.  I'm not a big fan of it!!

The set I used today is the "Best of Birthdays" set.  Part of the 25th anniversary celebration that Stampin' Up! is having. Each month there is a different "Best of" theme.  Last month I got the "Best of Halloween".  I am going to be making another card using that set but first I want to make one using the "Best of Flowers" set.  It has the Hydrangea and also the Upsy Daisy image.  These images are a smaller version of the original one.  I like them smaller!!!

So back to today's card.  I used the "Gingham Garden" decorative paper.  The words are from the "Express Yourself" hostess set.  It was an easy card to make but like I said, it's not one of my better works.  I just felt like I didn't know where to go with it.  I could have added a dry embossed layer and maybe that would have given it a bit more depth.  It's lacking something!

Another Halloween Hello

I still had the "Halloween Hello" stamp set out and I thought I would play with it.  I was looking at the skulls.  Not one of my favorite images but I thought I would give it a try.  I stamped them on black card stock using VersaMark and I embossed them in white.  Then I punched them out with a 1" square punch.  The white behind it is a 1-1/8" punched square and the Pumpkin Pie card stock is a  1-1/4" square.  So simple.  Just tape or glue all the squares.  Then set then in place but don't adhere them yet.  You need to know where to stamp the bat and the words. The words kind of got lost on the card but in person you can see it well enough.  Once stamped in VersaMark, I used black embossing powder and heat st it.

Next I took a half sheet of Basic Black card stock and folded it in half for my card base.  The Pumpkin Pie card stock was cut 1/8" on two sides.   And the decorative paper is from the  new "Witches' Brew" pack.  Once the layers were taped or glued in place you can begin to add the skulls. I used Dimensionals to set mine in place.

Once the skulls were adhered to the decorative paper I added little rhinestones to each ones eyes and to the bats eyes.  Just to give the card a little bling.   After I had finished the bat I wished I had colored the eyes before adding them.  But crystal eyes are fine, it's still cute!

A Halloween Hello

I can't tell you enough how much I LOVE this layout.  And you've seen it several times on my blog to know I use it often!!! It's such a fun layout and easy enough to do too!  You can find the measurements on this link to another card I had made using this layout.

I just love using this layout for those smaller images.  It seems to spotlight them.  It makes me happier about my choice of purchase when I run across smaller images that I am at a loss of what to do with.  When that happens I reach for this layout and whip up a card in no time.  I actually have a sample of this layout, with the measurements attached to it, on my ledge.  It's ready for me when I need it and I always know where to find it.  Though I know I can easily find it on my blog too when I search under "card measurements".  And now I added another label to help me find it better too, it's also under "Favorite Layout."

Enough about that.  Let's talk about this fun Halloween card.  The image is from the "Halloween Hello" set.  The decorative paper is from the new "Witches' Brew" decorative paper pack and let's not forget about the fun Halloween Washi tape from the new mini catalog! I am having a lot of fun with the Washi tape.  And to be honest here, I really wasn't going to purchase any because I didn't think it would be fun.  Boy was I wrong.  I even spotted some fun stuff at Archiver's and just HAD to purchase it.  Of course one has candy corns on it and the other has spiders.  I'll be making more Halloween cards as the season approaches and I will surely be using that new tape on a few!  And yes, I will share them on here with you!

Beautifully Baroque Flower Shop

Don't you just love how the title of this post rolls off your tongue?  Beautifully Baroque Flower Shop!  It has a nice flow to it.

This card was extremely easy to make too!  First I took a half sheet of Whisper White card stock and folded it in half.  Then I took a quarter sheet of Strawberry Slush and cut 1/8" off the top and one side.

I took a 1/4 sheet of Whisper White and trimmed 14" off the top and one side.  I ran the trimmed white piece through the Big Shot using the Beautifully Baroque folder.  It's SO pretty!

Next I stamped the Flower Shop flower and punched it out.  Don't add the pearl until you are all done or it makes it more difficult to stick the flower in place.

The words are from the Simply Sketched set.  I punched them out using the oval punch and the oval scallop punch.

I taped the colored layer to the base of the card and then the Beautifully Baroque piece on next.

I set both the oval and the flower in place using Dimensionals.  And then I added the pearl!

This is a very versatile card too.  Do white on white for a wedding.  It can also be used as a get well card, a thank you card, a sympathy card and a thinking of you card.

SO simple, SO quick and oh SO pretty!

Venetian Romance & Simply Sketched

Today my card was made with mostly card stock and decorative paper.  The only stamping is the words.

I used punches for the squares and the ovals.  Super easy and a very quick card to make.

The card stock color is Tangerine Tango.  The decorative paper is Venetian Romance.  And the words are from the "Simply Sketched".

I added some pearls to the upper right and on top of each square.  The ones on the squares are harder to see.

This card went together easily too.

The measurements are as follows:
The squares: 1", 1-1/4" and 1-3/8"

The long panels are as follows:
2-1/8", 2" and 1-7/8"

Ok, now go have fun making it!

Simply Sketched Mojo Monday Birthday Card

My card today was done using the Mojo Monday layout
I have done these layouts a few times but I tend to use the Split Coast Stampers ones more.  I guess because I have those coming to my email.  I'm sure there is a way to sign up for the Mojo Monday layouts but I really don't need anymore emails or layouts.  I have printed out the Split Coast layouts and have them in a photo album so I can refer to them when I need a layout or if I struggle with an image size.  I just take that image and page through the album until I find one that it fits in and then I just go from there with colors and embellishments.

Today's card was made using the Venetian Romance decorative paper.  I didn't think I had any of it but I did!!!  It's amazing what you find when you tidy up things a bit!!! LOL

I used a paper doily but with the way the sketch is laid out you can use a scalloped circle too.  I did change the layout a bit.  I wanted to use the Happy Birthday words from the "Simply Sketched" set but they wouldn't fit in the little image that was shown in the layout.  SO I just used the words and made that spot bigger.  I also moved it over.  I also moved the flower part over a bit too.  The sketch had it in the center and I didn't think it looked right so I moved it over.  I do like the way it turned out and I SO love how Tangerine Tango and Crisp Cantaloupe go together so well.  Oh and don't forget that little bit of Soft Suede behind the decorative paper circle.

I like making cards now and then that don't require a lot of stamping.  All that was stamped here is the words.  So simple.  So quick and very pretty!

Papillon Potpourri Card

Today's card is another that comes from you via Terri's latest and extremely FABULOUS Stamp-a-Stack.  I do not own the beautiful Venetian Romance decorative paper.  And now I'm wishing I would have ordered some.  It didn't grab me in the catalog but in person it's SO pretty.

This is a very simple card to do.  A few layers and some punching and die cutting and you're done.  Well, you do need to stamp the butterfly before you punch it out.

As I'm looking at the Crisp Cantaloupe card stock and the Soft Suede card stock together I can see myself using those two colors in a fall card.  I keep thinking on those lines because the new in colors are such soft colors that they remind me of spring and summer and I'm thinking I won't be using them much this winter.

It's hard to see it in the photo but the butterfly has 3 pearls going down the center.  It's such a lovely card!

Gifts of Kindness

Today's card comes from you via Terri's latest and extremely FABULOUS Stamp-a-Stack.  What a fun time that was.  We got to make 15 cards!!!  This was one of them.  Many times the cards I make are ones that I don't have the sets for and the set then ends up on my wishlist.  I eventually get it and then play with it for days!!! I guess that's a good sign, it means I purchased well, right?  LOL  This card was made using the "Gifts of Kindness" set.  I was not all that crazy about the flower in this set but once the pearls went on I really liked it.  I mostly wanted the set for all the words that come with it.  But it's way down on my wishlist because I have SO many other things I want.  But the set is working it's way closer to the top!

The colors used on this card are Smoky Slate and Strawberry Slush.  Strawberry Slush is one of my favorite in colors.  It runs a close tie with the Coastal Cabana.  I'm hoping to find some use for those colors this fall.  They just seem mostly like spring and summer colors.

This is a very versatile card.  I can see using it as a birthday, thank you, thinking of you, get well or even a sympathy card.

I also like how this card was designed too.  The base of the card is a piece of Whisper White cut at 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" and folded in half along the long side.  It's SO pretty and very easy to make too!  Leave it to Terri to come up with such a pretty card!

A Halloween Hello

I have mixed feelings about posting Halloween cards so early in the season.  But then when I think about it, I would like to see them early so I can get ideas or copy some and have plenty of time to order what I need and make the cards.  So with that in mind I am posting this easy to make Halloween card.

I LOVE playing with Washi tape and it sure aids in making quick cards!!

The bat is from the "Halloween Hello" set and the dots are the Candy Dots in the Subtle's collection.

This is a very quick and easy card to make.  It's not scary either, so it would be perfect for those little kiddies!

A Timeless Talk Thank You

I have been finding the "Timeless Talk" stamp set to be a fun one too.  A bit of a nostalgic look to the images.  I'm not old enough to remember bikes like that.  Though I do remember my tricycle did have a big wheel in the front and two smaller wheels in the back but nothing like this!

I also used the new Thinlit Circle Card die to make this card. I extended the length of the card too.  You can find the instructions to do that here.

I kept this card pretty simple because I wanted to use it as a masculine card, though it would work as a feminine card as well.

These Circle Cards are really easy to do and fun to decorate.  I plan on making more of these in the near future.  There's so much you can do with these!!

This post is short and sweet today!  The directions and measurements are on the link in the second paragraph so there wasn't much to explain!  Have fun with this!

My Granddaughter

Tomorrow this little girl will be 3 months old.  Today I do not have a card for you.  Well, I do have a card but I will post it tomorrow.  I wanted to share with you a photo of my 1st granddaughter Paige.

I have the privilege of babysitting her on Mondays and other times when needed.

It's going to be fun watching her grow up!  I'm starting to scrapbook photos of her.  I'm not big on scrapbooking so it's going to be quite a challenge for me!

She looks a lot like her dad and she's a fussy baby just like her dad was.  If she keeps on track like her dad she will be mellowing out soon and be a TON of fun.  I'm SO looking forward to Christmas this year.  She will be 6 months old and getting into stuff!!!

I have wanted to share a photo of Paige with you for a while but I kept forgetting to ask our son if it was ok. I didn't want to post it without asking them.  So here she is!

I forgot how much love one heart can hold when rocking a baby!

A Flower Shop Birthday

I saw a card using the Washi tape and the Flower Shop flowers and I thought I would mix the two once again.  I stamped and punched out the flowers and stamped and punched the centers.  I decided to angle my Washi tape and work with it that way.  I thought it was fun but doing it at an angle you lose a lot of the Washi tape behind the flowers.  It's ok though, I do like how it turned out.

I added the words from the "Simply Sketched" hostess set and a bit of bling and it was done.

The colors I used here are Melon Mambo for my ink and my card stock.  I also used Daffodil Delight ink for the flower centers.

This was a very quick and easy card to make and I think it would be fun to make more for a gift set.

Gingham Wheel Gift Set Cards

I love making sets of cards for gift giving or to sell but they have to be a quick card to make or I get bored with them fast.  If they have lots of parts and I'm making lots of them then the time drags on and I get tired of the card.  I do usually end up finishing them up but not with the enthusiasm as I had when I started.

These cards were very easy to make and I was able to keep the momentum going the entire time.  I even made two sets.  I LOVE the new Gingham wheel.

I saw this card somewhere on the net.  I had forgotten to bookmark the site, so if this is your design please let me know so I can give you credit and a link back to your website.

To make my lines so straight I lightly taped my cardstock to my stamping grid paper and I used a clear block stamp set as a guide for the wheel.  The case was bigger than the cardstock so I was able to line the box up above and below the cardstock.  And it also made it easy to make two sets!!

I punched out the other circles and ovals and on the center of the circles I used a pretty image from the "A Round Array" set.  And in the very center I placed a tiny rhinestone!  You can make these in any colors, as long as you have the cardstock and matching ink!!!  These were fun and I may even make some more!!

The Best of Halloween & Circle Framelit

Today I thought it was safe to play with Halloween stuff. It's the 10th of September. I did wait until we were into September before I even glanced over at this set.  This is such a fun set.  I've always wanted to buy that house stamp but I never did.  Now I have a smaller version of it and like it much better! Plus there are 4 other images in that set that I had wanted to buy in the past but never did.  Now I have a smaller version of all of them in one set!!!  How fun is that?  And how fun is it that they fit in the new Circle Card Framelit die??? I am LOVIN' that to pieces!!!  LOL
For today's card I actually got it off the net.  I saw this really long Halloween card and wondered how it was done.  I saw how you could elongate a card and I posted one last week.  You can see that one here.  Then I saw one even longer and I had to give that one a try.  If I had to pick one I just couldn't.  I like both sizes of long cards.  You can find the instructions to making this card here.  And there's a video on how to do this there.  I sometimes find videos frustrating.  I like things quick and to the point. I don't like watching people cut paper or tape things.  Just give me the details and let me make it.
So, if you don't want to watch someone tape and punch and cut then read on!

The Pumpkin Pie cardstock is cut 4-1/4" x 11".  A half sheet of card stock cut on the short side.  You need to feed it through the die like I told you about in the card I posted a couple of days ago.  You slip the cardstock over the wider part of the die toward the circle part, making sure the "blade" is on the bottom and your card stock rides over the frame on the opposite side of the "blade".  I took a post it note to use as tape to hold the cardstock and Framelit together.  I don't have the magnetic plate so I'm working with what I have.  Before you do this you will also need to add that piece of decorative paper on the left side because you want the half circle to be cut out perfectly.  That piece measures 1" x 4-1/4".  Only tape the top, bottom and the outside. If you tape all sides (like I did) part of it will show on the other side.  I taped mine so well that it tore the paper when I tried to remove it.  SO I had to start again.  Now you are ready to use your Big Shot.  Run it through until you pass the circle and back it out.  You don't want the back end of the frame making a score line like the card the other day did.  Once it's cut, remove the post it and go back to your work station!!!  You will need to score the cardstock at 7".  7" from the left going towards the right.  Next I added my Washi tape and then stamped the owl in the tree image.  The other images were stamped on Whisper White cardstock and taped in place. And lastly the larger piece of decorative paper went on.  It was cut at 3-3/4" x 4"  And that was it!!  Now go make one yourself!! It's fun!

Simply Sketched Sympathy Card

I found this card at Kay's Stamping to Share blog. I thought I would make one so I could have a sympathy card on hand.  But after I got done with it I realized that I do have some on hand but every time I need one I make a brand new one.  Odd I know and I have no idea why I do that but I do!!  It's all about what makes me unique!!! LOL

For today's card the "Simply Sketched" hostess set was used here.  And the words also came from that set.  I was surprised to see that the words came from that set.  I usually used the birthday sentiment from it.

This is a very easy card to do. Though I did struggle with the decorative paper.  Personally I don't think it was printed correct on the sheet.  I tried to straighten out the design as much as I could without it looking too crooked.  The top and the bottom are a little off but I did get the sides straight so it looked fairly straight.

There's no coloring or cutting here.  Just a piece of decorative paper, cardstock, ink and the stamp set.  Super simple and unbelievably quick!

A Sympathy Circle Thinlits Die Card

Today I needed a sympathy card. My uncle passed away and in a little while we are off to the memorial service.  As I was surfing the net, stalking blogs or just snooping around (you pick whichever one fits the best!!!), I ran a cross this card made by Sandy at her "Udderly Awesome Stamping from the Heart" blog.  I am having a lot of fun with this new Thinlits die.

There is a little difference between my card and Sandy's.  I used a 1/2 sheet of cardstock and fed it through the die so it didn't cut off the back side of the card.  That part of the cardstock went over the frame and the rest of the cardstock went under like normal.  Then you run it through your Big Shot and it makes a light scoring mark where the frame gets squished against the paper but doesn't cut it.  I still use my scoring tool to make a better mark.  After all, it is a half sheet of cardstock!!! LOL  I just like to have a nice crisp fold there.

Then the fun starts.  I used the Dotted folder to get the texture dots on the left side. I stamped the birds in branches from the Serene Silhouettes set.  My decorative paper came from the Modern Medley pack.  And I used the "Thoughts & Prayers" set for the words on the scalloped piece and on the right piece.  That is how big the piece is that you fold over when you use a half sheet of cardstock.  I folded the card up and of course had to open it to see how cool it operates and it's now ready for me to write something in and off we go to the service.

Thank You Circle Thinlits Die Card

You are not going to believe this but today's card is an original!!  I played with the new Circle Card Thinlits Die.  When I saw this die I couldn't wait to order it!  I LOVE those swing cards but I don't care much for making them.  Well, this die took all the hassle out of making them.  Just run the die with your card stock through your Big Shot and viola!!!  Fold and embellish and you have a swing card!!!  What fun!  You can get yours here.

My card was made using Strawberry Slush cardstock and decorative paper.  I have used that Strawberry Slush color so much I think I need to order another pack of it.  But with fall coming, do I want this color??  I have to think about it!

I made a fun accordion fold circle for the bottom left corner.  To make those you cut a piece of card stock 12" long.  I just used the 11" off a piece of cardstock.  Then you score every 1/4".  Next you just fold them back and forth like an accordion.  That
is not my favorite part of making them!  But once they are done I am glad I went through all that folding.  It's really not a lot of folding if you're just making one.  I had made 12 cards with 3 of them on each card so I got tired of the folding awfully quick!! Before I folded or scored my strip I added a piece of Gingham Garden Washi tape to it.  Then I scored and folded.  I glued my ends together and used a binder clip to hold them while they dried enough to work with.  Once it's set you work with it a bit to lay it open and flat.  Then you squish it to form the circle.  You can tape the back side onto a punched circle with some very sticky tape to it.  Regular Tombow will not hold.  What I ended up doing was putting a bit of Sticky Strip to the punched circle. I marked the center (or close to it) to the punched circle and I set the folded one on top.  Then I added some hot glue to the center and held it while it set.  Once it was set I embellished the front a bit more.  I added a small 1/2" circle and then a small scallop and in the center of that I added a candy dot.

The front large circle has a Flower Shop flower set in the middle with Dimensionals.  And in the middle of the flower is a Simply Pressed Blossom clay flower.

On the inside I used the new Photopolymer "Another Thank You" stamp.  I really do like those stamps.  They are totally clear and using the clear blocks you can see exactly where you are going to be stamping.

I extended the length of this card too.  The die cuts it off where the white paper starts on the right.  To make the card longer you just feed it into the die.  With the cutting "blade" part facing down you slip the cardstock over the back piece and under the circle part.  The back piece will make a light scored mark but won't cut because the "blade" part is under it.  You can find some tutorials on the net for a more clear description.  I had added a strip of Whisper White cardstock to the right side and a little strip of decorative paper so I had a space to write in the card.  And that was it!  VERY fun!

Six Sided Sampler Birthday Card

While surfing the net (again! or should it read "still!"  LOL) I ran across this fun card.  I found it at Becky's Scrapin' and Stampin' blog, the August 29th post.  Becky had done hers using decorative paper and hexagon punch.  I wanted to see if I could do it with just the rubber stamp and ink.  I did use my Stamp-a-ma-jig to get the hexagons lined up as well as I could.  You have to be REALLY good with that thing to get them perfect.  It may have been easier to just punch out the paper.  I couldn't do that, I don't have a lot of that paper left.  And no, I'm not hoarding it!!! LOL  Becky also used Prima flowers on her card.  I made paper ones.

For my card I used the Six Sided Sampler set with black StazOn. I used the Boho Flower punch to make my Real Red flowers.  I added a pearl to the center of each flower after I glued them in place.  The words are from the Simply Sketched Hostess set and the card is made using Whisper White cardstock.

Even with using the
Stamp-a-ma-jig it was a pretty simple and quick card to make.

Six Sided Sampler Card

I was looking for a fun card using the "Six Sided Sampler" set and I found one at Becky's "Scrappin' and Stampin'" blog.  I thought it looked like a fun card to make.  The only think I didn't like was making sure the stamp was dry before I moved on to the next color.  Now this would be a great card to make several of.  That way they stamp would be dry because you would stamp one color and punch it out and then move on to the next and by the time you needed that image again it would be dry.  But I didn't make more than one card so I had to take extra care in making sure the image was dry.

With that said I will move on to how this fun card was made.  The base of the card is a half sheet of Whisper White cardstock with a 1/4 trimmed sheet on top.  The hexagons were stamped in the following colors, Real Red, Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive, Pacific Point, Basic Black and Elegant Eggplant.  Once they were stamped I punched them out and added Dimensionals behind each one.  I tried to follow how they were placed by looking at the original card.  I stamped the words and used the "Bitty Banners" die to cut it out.  Then I also cut out two of those pieces in Basic Black and lined them up behind the word piece, one above and one below.  I thought it gave the layer some nice depth.

Next I taped the 1/4 trimmed piece to the card base.  And when went to set the word piece in place I saw that I had the card upside down.  GRRRR.  But it did turn out okay anyway so I'm not going to whine about it too much.  It's been a long time since I've made an upside down card!!!  And I wasn't even drinking!! LOL

This was a very fun card to make and I can see myself making more of this card!  It's so bright and cheery and can be used for several occasions.

Serene Silhouettes

I received this card in the mail from my new friend Gloria.  It's such a lovely card and she did a fabulous job on the embossing. I was amazed at the amount of detail she put on the card by adding dots using the gel pen.  I never would have thought of that.

Gloria told me that the card was a CASE from Karen's "A Stamper's Diary.... Pressing on..." blog.

And there was one more thing that Gloria did that I have never thought of either.  She folded the card inside out before she mailed it.  It arrived in perfect condition.  We sure learn a lot from other's on here, don't we?  Well, I do anyway and I share it with you!

If you want to make this card I will give you a brief description of what you need.  Crumb Cake, Whisper White and Basic Black cardstock.  Black embossing powder.  Serene Silhouettes set. White gel pen. Oval punch and oval scallop punch, black ribbon.  A word set.  I would use VersaMark to stamp the image in and you'll need your heat tool.  Plus a background embossing folder.  The Fancy Fans was used here.

Thank you Gloria for the beautiful card and for allowing me to share it with everyone.

And I thank you all for visiting my blog today,

Off the Grid meets Gingham Garden Washi Tape

This has to be one of my most favorite cards that I have made lately.  I LOVE the colors and I LOVE the Washi tape.  I found this card at Amy's Paper Craft's.  I feel like I have camped out at her blog lately!!! LOL

This card was extremely simple to do.  First I stamped the grid image from the "Off the Grid" set.  Then I sprayed it with a mix of Strawberry Slush and rubbing alcohol.  You're suppose to use a higher percent of alcohol, not the 70%.  I had read that somewhere a while back.  I think that was for the spraying.  Well, I didn't have the higher percent of rubbing alcohol so I just used what I had.  I think it worked out fine.  I got the effect I was looking for and it dried almost instantly.  I did give it two sprays.  Probably a little more than it needed but it's ok, I still like it.  And I could make a lot more cards like this because I mixed up a whole little bottle of the spray! LOL  I don't know what I was thinking.  But it's ok, it's not like it's so expensive that you can't empty the bottle out.

Next I stamped the words.  I wanted to make sure the spray was completely dry before I added the tape.  The words are from the "Express Yourself" Hostess set.  Then I punched out the flowers and taped them together.  I added a Candy dot to the center and a Dimensional to the back.  Now I was ready to add the Washi tape.  I just set the tape down on the paper and rolled off what I needed and tore it.  Only two of the 3 tapes in the pack were used here.

Isn't it a fun card?  I don't know if it's the Strawberry Slush on the Whisper White that is making me really like this card or if it's the sprayed background.  That is where my eyes go when I look at it.  But it doesn't matter, I like the card and that's what's important, right?

Thank you ever SO much for visiting my blog today,

A Field Flowers Birthday

Now I don't remember if I had cased this card or if I actually came up with something on my own.  You know how it is when you get in the swing of remaking cards, you tend to forget how to be creative yourself.  I look at it as just taking a break from being creative so I can start up again on my own at a later date!  So if I did copy your card or you know who's card this is (if it's not mine!!!) please let me know so I can give credit where credit is due!

Today's card was made using my clear block on the background.  I inked it up with Daffodil Delight and I did stamp off because the yellow was just too bright.  The flower is from the "Field Flowers" set, I stamped the flower part with the stems.  I used Pear Pizzazz for that.  Then I used Pumpkin Pie on the flowers top part.

The words are from the "Express Yourself" hostess set.  I used Pear Pizzazz on those as well.

I taped the stamped part to the Daffodil Delight and then added the ribbon.  I wrapped the ribbon around to the back and taped it in place.  Then I tied a bow and taped it in place.  Then I taped the whole piece to the Whisper White card base.  And that was it. A very simple and clean looking card.  Oh and very versatile too!  This can be used for lots of occasions.

Labeled Love Birthday Card

Today's card comes to you from Amy Oniell's Blog.  And as usual, I did make a couple of changes.  One I used different ribbon and instead of the button on top of it I used a clay flower.  And I used a different image from the "Labeled Love" stamp set.  I was looking for a card that used the paper doily.  I have a whole pack of them (minus one or two) and i wanted to find some cards that I could use the doily on.  I tried a card on my own and I thought it turned out rather ugly.  SO my next choice was to go surfing to find some beauties out there to copy and make me feel good about owning a package of paper doilies!!!  LOL

The base of my card is Daffodil Delight.  On top of that is a trimmed piece of Pacific Point and on top of that is the Gingham Garden decorative paper.  I used the "Tastefully Trim" Sizzix die for the large gingham scallop.  I did have fun making this card.  It had a lot of pieces but once they all were put together I rather enjoyed it.  And I got to use a doily!!!  LOL

Thank you SO much for stopping by today,
