A Summer Silhouettes Birthday

Today I found this card and just HAD to make it.  I found it using a Google Images search and it wasn't linked to anyone's name or blog.  So if this is your card, please let me know so I can give you credit and a link back to your blog.

It was a fun card to make, though I did find that bottom strip a bit challenging.  I had trouble getting it straight.  It took me 3 times before I finally got it right.  UGH!  Since I don't have a link for you to go see the original card I will tell you what the differences are. I used different designer paper for that little ribbon looking strip and I used different wording.  My words came from the "Simply Sketched" set.  One of my favorite for the words (the images are nice too but I am using the words more than the images).

The leaves are done using Pistachio Pudding.  Such a pretty color green.  The cardstock and yellow ink is Crushed Curry.  Now that is a color I hardly use.  I'm not sure why either.  It's pretty enough but not bright like the Daffodil Delight.  Maybe come fall I will be using it more.  But on this card it's very pretty and pleasing to the eye.  The words and stems were done using black StazOn.  It's basically a simple and quick card.  And if you have a Stamp-a-ma-jig, I highly recommend it to do that bottom part straight.  It will save you a lot of time redoing it.  I need to practice what I preach!  LOL  If I ever make another one I will definitely be using the Stamp-a-ma-jig!

Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda
