Trendy Tree Masculine Card

After finding out what stamp sets are retiring I decided to play with the before I say goodbye to them!  Today I hopped on over to Split Coast Stampers to see what fun samples were there using the Trendy Trees set.  I have always liked this set and have used it a lot.  I am sad to see it go but ok with it because I did get some use out of it.  While at Split Coat Stampers I found this pretty layout. A very simple card with not a lot going on but yet elegant enough for me to want to copy it.  If you head on over to the original card by stamper camper, you will see a few differences.  On that card the decorative paper is really card stock that is clipped at the top edge to resemble grass.  I opted for the decorative paper with the stripes.  Not that I didn't like how the original card was done, I just didn't want to clip paper.  I wanted to make it a quicker card.  I also omitted the pierced circle around the trees.  I did like it but I didn't want to do it.  Other than that this card is very similar to the one at Split Coast Stampers.

The decorative paper is from the Subtles Pack.  I have lots of sheets of that stuff left to use up.   I have a feeling that is going to retire to.  I did cut out the trees after stamping them.  And yes, I did use the Stamp-a-ma-jig to line up the tree trunks.  I stamped the tree tops first and then the trunks.  And get this, I only did it once.  Many times, even with the Stamp-a-ma-jig I still get it off kilter.

The base of the card is Whisper White and so is the next layer.  That layer I cut at 4" x 5-1/4".  And the decorative paper is cut at 58" x 4-1/2"

And the words are from the Teeny Tiny Wishes set.  And that was it.  Very quick, very simple, very clean and very masculine!

Thank you SO much for stopping by today,
Wanda
