Sail Away Wednesday Sketch Challenge

The Wednesday Sketch Challenge over at SplitCoastStampers was a lot of fun!  I loved it because of all the layers.  You know me and layers.  I think it would be more of a challenge for me to make a card without layers.  Is there such a thing?? LOL

I got to play with my new "Sail Away" stamp today too!  It's such a great masculine stamp.  As you can see I used mine for a birthday card.  Not that I needed another masculine birthday card right now but it will go in my stash until I need it (before fall that is).  I also think this card would be a great masculine sympathy card.  I'll have to try that sometime when I can fit it in with all the other things I've got going on.  Some days my head is in a whirl with everything that is going on!  But as I keep at it, things are getting done and I'm starting to feel the stress leave!  Or as I often refer to it as the "monkeys on my back." I have 5 huge projects I'm working on and those are some pretty heavy monkeys.  And all of them will have an end so I won't have to deal with them once they are done!!! LOVE those kinds of monkeys the best!!  And at the rate I'm going it looks like mid summer I will be one happy camper!!!  *crosses fingers*  LOL
Ok, lets talk about my card some more!!  You do remember that this blog is ALL about me, don't you?  LOL

I actually bought the "Nautical Expedition" decorative paper along with the download.  Now I can see that my printer does print it out in a different color.  Fortunately I like how both look!!  But on my card I used the decorative paper that was manufactured.  The stamp is from the new spring mini catalog which starts May 1st.  And the words are from my stash I printed out a while back.  It's just SO convenient to print them out, punch them out (in round and oval) and keep them in an envelope for future use!

This was a very fun sketch.  If you have time give it a try!  I printed the sketch out and now I need to trim the edges so it fits in my photo album where I keep them all. Yup, all of them! All 328 of them!! I refer to them often too.  I like to take the stamp I want to use and set it on top of the focal layers of the sketches to see which one it will work best with.  It sure makes card making a lot easier!

Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda
