Wednesday Sketch Challenge

This weeks Sketch Challenge at SplitCoastStampers was a fun one. It had what I LOVE. LOTS of layers!!! This one had 6 layers. Can you believe that? I wasn't sure where I was going to go with this card. All I knew going into it was that I needed a "welcome to the neighborhood card." I was going to use the Stampin' Up! "Good Neighbors" set but while I was looking through the "Welcome Neighbor" designer series paper pad I ended up using papers from there. The only stamping on this card is the words from the "Warm Wishes" set. The rest was just cutting and using Dimensinals.

Even with all those layers it was a pretty quick card to put together. Don't let many layers on a card keep you from making or casing that card. You need to challenge yourself now and then.

Sometimes it is a challenge for me to post a card on my blog. This one was not what I was hoping it would be. I needed the welcome neighbor card and this is what I ended up with. It wasn't what I had in mind. I do like the colors but the card seems kind of drab or a bit boring. Maybe because I didn't add any ribbons, buttons or other bling to it. It certainly wasn't made to impress!!

It will be going in an envelope tomorrow and get addressed to send off to the new neighbor. Hopefully she is not into stamping and will think it's just the greatest! LOL

If you have time try making a card using this sketch! Go to SplitCoastStampers and check out their other sketches too. Or even post your card to their site! Doing that is addictive!

Thank you SO much for visiting today,
Wanda

  1. I'm sure your neighbor will be blown away that you took the time and energy to create a lovely token of welcome. Bet she won't receive many others, and certainly none so pretty.
