Radiant Sunflowers, Banner Sayings, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a birthday card to share with you. I ran across the card front with the left layered panel already taped to it. I must have had plans for it and changed my mind. But I thought I would make a card with it so it didn't get ruined. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. I cut a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece of Crushed Curry card stock and textured it using the "Sunflower" embossing folder. I had glued it to the front of the card.

Both panels measure the same. The Cajun Craze layers were cut at 2-1/2" x 3-3/4". On the left panel a 2-1/4" x 3-1/2" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Sunflower Fields" 12" x 12" package. It was taped to the Cajun Craze layer. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place on the upper left side of the card about 1/4" from the fold and the top edge.

On the right panel I cut a piece of Basic White at 2-1/4" x 3-1/2" and I scrubbed on some Cajun Craze ink using my blending brush.

Using the "Radiant Sunflowers" bundle I cut the vase using Early Espresso, the leaves were cut using Mossy Meadow, the sunflower was cut using Crushed curry and the flower center was cut using Cajun Craze card stock. I added tape to the back of the vase and added the stem and then the flower was taped on. These pieces won't stay together well because there's not enough surface to make them stick but I didn't need them to hold well. I just put them together so I could lay it on the Basic White piece to see where the words would go.

The words are from the "Banner Sayings" and were stamped using Basic Black ink. They are about 1/4" from the bottom edge of the Basic White edge.

I added glue to the assembled flower pieces, I set it all in place on the center of the Basic White piece. Dimensionals were added to the upper right and lower bottom area of the panel and tape on the upper left where it touches the DSP panel.  And the card was done.

It's fun to find cards partially done and whip up one in no time! Plus it was great to get it off my worktable without it getting ruined. A win/win!

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's birthday card,
Wanda
