Oh My Fright, Frightfully Fun, Halloween Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a Halloween card to share with you. I found it on Pinterest and thought it would be quick and easy to make. I need quick and easy right now since I have an injury on my finger. I have been making a lot of knitted beanies and they need pom poms.  (I'll post a pic of the beanies once I finish the last few). While trimming one, I cut the middle knuckle on my forefinger. The one that turns light switches on! You forget how much you need your fingers. It's a pretty deep cut and it's very painful. It's about 1/4" wide and football shaped. It's not in a good spot for stitches because of the bend. So it's got a bandage on it and painter's tape over that for two reasons. One to help keep the bandage on and two to help keep my finger straight. Every bend cause it to bleed again. So it's going to take a while to heal but for the next couple of days I will be doing simple cards. You can see the original card by clicking here.  Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Pumpkin Pie card stock. It opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top. I cut two pieces of Basic White card stock. One taped to the inside and one taped on the front.

I cut a piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Frightfully Fun" 12" x 12" package. This piece measures 3-7/8" x 5-1/8". On top of that is a piece of Basic White card stock that measures 4-3/4" x 3-1/2". I textured it using the "Swirls of Magic" embossing folder. Using a blending brush, I scrubbed on some Pumpkin Pie ink and then I taped it to the DSP. That was then taped to the front of the card.

I cut the tree and bats from Basic Black card stock that had double-sided tape on the back. They are from the "Oh My Fright" bundle. I cut the ghost using Basic White card stock.

I set the tree in place and then the ghost was glued on.

The words are from the same bundle and were stamped using Basic Black ink. I added the stars from an image in the set. Crushed Curry ink was used for that. The piece measures 2-1/8" x 1-1/4" and it was taped to a 2-1/4" x 4-3/8" piece of Basic Black card stock. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place on the front of the card.

The bats were added next and I colored the eyes in using the light Real Red Blends pen. And the card was done.

This was a simple and quick card to make and my finger didn't hurt until I started typing this! OUCH!

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's Halloween card,
Wanda
