Timeless Christmas, Season of Celebration, Christmas Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have an "ugly sweater" card to share with you. It wasn't all that ugly until I added those cute little peppermint candy embellishments. Cute and ugly at the same time! Please read on to see how I put this card togehter.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DPS) from the "Timeless Christmas" 12" x 12" package. I taped it to the front of the card for the largest layer.

I cut a 4-1/2" x 2-3/4" piece of Peaceful Pine card stock for the layer on the left. I taped this piece to the front of the card about 1/2" from the top, bottom and fold.

The next layer was cut from same package. I laid the dotted piece face up and then added the green plaid piece to the bottom. The top piece measures 3" x 3-3/4" and the piece at the bottom measured 1-1/2" x 3". I taped that to the bottom of the dotted piece. Then I taped that to the Peaceful Pine piece about 3/8" from the top, bottom and left side.

I ran across a glitter paper circle that I had cut (who knows when) and thought I'd just use it on the card to get it off my table. The circle is about 2-1/4" in diameter. I glued it to the front of the card.

Now for the fun. When I was looking through the ephemera pieces in the "Season of Celebration" and saw the sweater and knew I had to use it. I thought I'd make an "ugly sweater" card.  I removed the backing on the sweater and I also added some glue because I wasn't sure how well it would stick to the glitter.

The words are from another piece in the ephemera package. I removed the backing, added Dimensionals and then brushed the backing over with baking soda (or baby powder) to cover the sticky parts. Then I removed the backing from the Dimensionals and set the piece in place on the plaid piece.

Now to give the sweater a touch of ugliness, I added those cute peppermint candies. I'm not sure how ugly they made the sweater. Its hard to make something ugly using something cute.  But if it were a real sweater, I wouldn't wear it! LOL

This was a fun, quick, and easy card to make. I struggled with the DSP but I managed to make it work.

Thank you SO much for taking your time to stop in and see today's Christmas card,
Wanda
