Stitched Stocking, A Stitched Season, Christmas Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a Christmas card to share with you. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Poppy Parade card stock for the largest layer. On top of that I taped a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "A Stitched Season" 12" x 12" package. Then I taped the two layers to the front of the card.

I fussy cut a tree from the same package of DSP. I added Dimensionals to the back and set it aside because I had no idea where I'm going with this. 

I had a scrap piece of the Poppy Parade colored DSP so I found which arched die fit well with it.The die is from the "Everyday Arches" set. I used the fourth smallest. And I used the fifth smallest for the Basic White layer. I taped the two arches together and added Dimensionals to the back.  I decided that the tree will be going on top. 

The card's orientation was originally going to be portrait but I switched it to landscape because the sides looked like there was too much space between them. Though when I turned it to landscape I had no idea what I was going to do with that wide right side. Either way I had wide areas I needed to brainstorm on.

The words needed to be on the right. I stamped them from the "Stitched Stocking" bundle using Basis Black ink. I cut them out using the 2nd smallest arched die. I thought it would look nice it the flat end was tucked in behind the larger layered arched pieces. 

I set the larger arches in place but I didn't press down on the piece yet because I needed to tuck the word piece in place. I added tape to the word piece and slipped it under the large layered arched piece. Then I pressed down on both.

The tree was set in place on the large arched piece. I pressed down on it to hold it in place. I added some peppermint candies (which are coming back in the winter catalog YAY! I think they are just too cute) I had some leftover. They are just too cute.

Some little peppermint candies were added to the word piece and the card was done.

This was a fun, quick and easy card to make!
