Pretty Poinsettia, Christmas Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I thought I'd play with the "Pretty Poinsettia" bundle. I had cut some pieces and stamped some wording when I had a play date with a friend. I thought I should put a card together before parts get lost or ruined. I found a card on the internet and thought I would give it a try. The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Secret Sea card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut two 4" x 5-1/4" pieces of Basic Beige card stock. I taped one to the inside and the other I textured using the "Swirls of Magic" embossing folder. I took a piece of dark blue ribbon I had on hand and wrapped the edges to the back and taped them down. Then I glued the Basic Beige piece to the front of the card.

The poinsettia petals were die cut using some pearly card stock my friend had. When I had seen the poinsettia card on the internet it reminded me that I had cut the pearly petals a while back. I put the petals together and set it aside.

For the center of the flower I used the pretty star looking die and cut two of silver card stock. I glued them to the center of the card.

The words are from the same "Pretty Poinsettia" bundle and were stamped on a piece of Basic Beige. I used Night of Navy ink to stamp the words. Then I took my Wink of Stella pen and colored in the centers of the letters. The pen was picking up the blue so I tried to blend the colors in on the edges to make it look like I meant to do that! I have done several cards in the past that I used the "I meant to do that" trick! Now you know! LOL I cut the words out using the 3rd square in the "Stylish Shapes" set. Dimensionals were added to the back and the piece was set in place on the lower right.

I added a few Dimensionals to the back of the poinsettia and set it in place above the ribbon line.

A ribbon bow was tied and glue dots were used to hold it in place.  And that was it. I didn't add any embellishments, I just wanted the swirls to carry the back of the card.

This was a very fun and easy card to make. It's nice to use some ribbons that are in my stash. I need to do that more.
