Fern & Flora, Moonlit Flora, Friendship Card, Thank You Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I thought I'd move on to something other than the "Begonia Belle" flower. I thought about making one more but I'll save that for another day. I do need to play with it a bit more and experiment with other colors. So for today I'm going to use the "Fern & Flora" bundle and "Moonlit Flora" 12" x 12" package of Designer Series Paper (DSP). I found this card on Pinterest. There was no link to find any measurements so I had to wing it. You can see the original card by clicking here. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece of DSP from the "Moonlit Flora" package and taped it to the front of the card.

Now here's where I had to do a lot of guessing, trimming and more trimming until I got the size right for the focal layer. It's a 2-1/4" x 3-1/2" piece of Basic White card stock.

Using the image in the "Fern & Flora" bundle, I stamped it using Golden Glow ink. My pad was a bit over inked so some details got ink in between them and the ink mooshed together. Mooshed is a stamping term! LOL I stamped it about 3/8" from the top and I centered it as much as I could by eyeing it, it does measure a little more than 1/4" on each side.

The words were stamped next and they were from the "Fern & Flora" bundle. . I used Basic Black ink to stamp them.

The flowers were from another piece of DSP and were fussy cut. The greenery was cut using Mossy Meadow and Secret Sea card stock and the dies from the bundle. On the leafy piece to the left, I had to cut off the bottom 4 leaves, it was just too long for this space. I glued the greenery in place.

Dimensionals were added to the back of the flowers and they were set in place on top of the greenery. I just placed them where I thought they looked the best.

I cut a piece of Mossy Meadow to measure 2-1/2" x 3-3/4" for the layer behind the Basic White piece and a 2-3/4" x 4" piece of Secret Sea for the largest layer. I taped the two layers together and then taped the focal piece to it. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place on the center of the card and the card was done.

This was a very fun card to make. I had admired it every time it would pop up on my feed and every time I saw it, I just wanted to make it sometime. Well, sometime came and the card got made. I am not sure I want to mail it to my friend, I really like it. But I like my friend more!

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's friendship/thank you card,
Wanda
