Phrases & Frames, Garden Gatherings, Anniversary Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. My sister's anniversary is coming up in a week and I thought I'd get the card done now so I don't forget. It's a nice break from the masculine cards. But my masculine card stash is not very big so I will be making more at a later date but for now I have an anniversary card to share with you. I was inspired by a card I saw on Pinterest. You can see that card by clicking here. Please read on to see how I made today's card.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White for the largest layer. On top of that is a 3-7/8' x 5-1/8" piece of Basic White card stock that I textured using my scoring tool. I flipped the piece of card stock over and did my scoring on the left side. I scored about 1-1/8" from the left edge and from the bottom edge. I scored at 1/8" intervals and made 5 score lines on the horizontal and the vertical.

Next I die cut the second smallest rectangle die in the "Stylish Shapes" set using Basic White card stock. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set aside. I also cut three flowers and three leaf clusters from the "Garden Gatherings" bundle using Basic White card stock.

Using a blending brush I lightly scrubbed on some Bubble Bath ink. Dimensionals were added to the back and they were set aside.

I laid the rectangle across where the grid lines meet so I could see where the wording would go. The words are from the "Phrased & Frames" bundle and were stamped using Smoky Slate ink. I had set the piece up in my MISTI and got the words lined up. I stamp on a piece of grind paper to make sure I have them straight and when I'm satisfied I stamp on the card piece. I set the card piece in the upper part of the MISTI instead of the lower part and that's where my words ended up. They were supposed to be far over to the left. I think they look fine where they are. I did have a little issue with the words or maybe the ink. But I think it was the words. When I get a new stamp I will rub my thumb across it to remove any oils from the manufacturing of it and I forgot so I'm pretty sure the ink kind of beaded up on the stamp and didn't stamp clear. Live and learn. I've been doing a lot of learning lately! LOL

After the words were stamped I taped that piece to the 4" x 5-1/4" piece of card stock. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place on the card base.

The flowers were gently set in place on the rectangle and the stems on the leaves were trimmed almost completely off and I glued them in place by tucking them under the flowers. I pressed down on the flowers to secure them.

The rectangle was set in place on the front of the card about 7/8" up from the bottom edge and 3/4" from the right edge.

I have a ton of pearls in my stash so I thought I'd use them on this card. Once the pears were added the card was done.

This was a fun, quick and easy card to make. I love the minimal look, clean and simple. I'm sure my sister will like it.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's anniversary card,
Wanda
