Bloom Boutique, Floral Spray, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Playing with the new stuff is in full force! LOL Today I have a birthday card to share with you. Please read on to see how it was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of gold foil card stock and taped it to the card base, allowing equal spacing all around.

The Designer Series Paper (DSP) is from the "Bloom Boutique" 12" x 12" package. I cut a 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece and then trimmed it to fit the angle I wanted on the card.

I cut the piece at an angle from the top edge mark at 3-1/2" and the bottom at 1".

The Basic White piece was cut at 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" and then trimmed to fit. I cut the piece at an angle from the top edge mark at 1-5/8" from the top right corner and the bottom right corner to the 4" mark. I textured this piece using the "Floral Spray" embossing folder.

I taped the DSP and the textured piece to the gold foil piece.

Next I stamped the words from the "Scalloped Blossoms" bundle using Pecan Pie ink. Then I cut them using a die from the "Stampin' Cut & Emboss" dies. I used the next size larger to cut the gold foil layer.

I taped the two pieces together, added Dimensionals to the back and set it in place on the center of the card. It looked centered enough to me, I didn't measure.  When cutting the gold foil piece, little hearts were left behind on my die cutting machine. I glued them to the word piece and the card was done.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's birthday card,
Wanda

  1. such a pretty way to highlight both the pretty papers and embossing, lovely shape to the sentiment frame and so pretty with the gold!

  2. I love dry embossing on cards. It adds such a special touch.
