The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left. My piece was in my package of "Lovely Blossoms" 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper (DSP) package. I had put this piece of DSP on the front of a folded half-sheet to make a card but decided on something else so I put it in the package to use at a later day. It's time to use it!
I cut another piece of floral DSP in the same package. It was cut at 4" x 5-1/4". I marked the right side 1-1/2" down from the upper right and I cut it at an angle to the bottom left corner. I taped it over the peachy piece of DSP already on the card base.
Next I cut the Old Olive rectangle at 2" x 3-1/2" and taped it to the front of the card about 7/8" from the fold and about 1" from the top and bottom edges.
The Cloud Cover strip was cut at 3/4" x 4-1/4" and taped on top of the Old Olive piece about 1-1/4" from the fold and 5/8" from the top and bottom edges.
The words are from the "Simply Said" set and were stamped using black Memento ink on Basic White card stock. I cut them out using the 3rd largest circle die in the "Stylish Shapes" set. I cut a Petal Pink piece of DSP using the 2nd largest circle die from the "Stylish Shapes" set and taped the two pieces together. Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set in place on the front of the card about 1" from the fold and about 1-1/2" from the top and bottom edges.
I added three brass butterflies to the word piece and the card was done.
I like this layout and will give it another try sometime in the near future. I think I would texture the rectangle piece and add some bling to the bottom area, it looks a bit open and in need of something.
This was a fun card to make and I was happy to have found this layout.
Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's birthday card,
Wanda
