Love Notes, Endless Love, Valentine's Day Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a card to share with you that I am calling the worst card I've ever made. It's SO blah and not what I had in my head at all. Sometimes what's in my head doesn't come out on paper. They all can't be winners, can they.  I'll share how I made it in hopes that you can improve on it!

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top.

I trimmed the checkered bordered piece from the "Love Notes" 6" x 6" stack at 3-1/4" x 5" and I added a Poppy Parade layer that measures 3-1/2" x 5-1/4". I taped the two pieces together and taped it to the upper part of the card base about 1/4" from the sides and fold.

The "Happy Heart" is from the same stack and was trimmed at 1-3/4" x 3". I cut a Poppy Parade layer measuring 2" x 3-1/4". Dimensionals were added to the back and it was set aside.

Using the "XO" dies from the "Endless Love" die set I cut several sets out of Poppy Parade and Petal Pink card stock. I glued them to the checkered border piece.

Then the "Happy Heart Day" piece was set in place. I used the card stock hearts that came out of the centers of the "O's" in the "XO" and glued them to that piece. And that was it.

It's SO blah and not very colorful. I think it could use a Poppy Parade card base or some Basic Black card stock.  It needs something. Perhaps some sponging in that large white background area??? It needs some major help!

Well, I'm off to work on a knitted beanie. I'm going to give fair isle a try. Wish me luck. I'll show you when it's done. If it turns out. LOL I need to keep my hands busy, we are headed for the deep freeze here in MN. It snowed a bit today and now the temps are dropping.  If you live in the upper midwest, stay warm and be safe!

Thank you SO much for taking your time to stop in and see today's Valentine's Day card,
Wanda
