The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Real Red card stock. On top of that is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Real Red card stock that was textured using the "Forever Plaid" embossing folder. I used really strong tape to attach this to the front of the card. Normally I use glue but my glue bottle is empty and the cupboard I keep them in is WAY across my small workroom! Just too lazy today. Actually, I'm already tired from preparing for Thanksgiving. Cleaning and baking today. Tomorrow will be just as busy till after dinner. And after that I'm not cooking or cleaning a thing for the next three days! LOL.
Okay, back to the card. The Designer Series Paper (DSP) is from that same "Christmas Tags & More" package. The largest piece was cut at 3-1/2" x 4". On top of that is a 2" x 4" piece of Real Red. Before taping it down I cut the circle from the "Stylish Shapes" set. I used the 4th largest. I set it aside for now.
The DSP that is on top of the Real Red piece is from the same package. I taped all three layers together and then I taped them to the front of the card using strong tape. I like to use glue or strong tape on textured pieces because the regular snail tape doesn't seem to stick as well because of all of the peaks and valleys.
Once the layers were taped down I popped out the trees and cardinal. I taped the trees in place. Then I took some gold cord that I had and tied a bow. I used a glue dot to hold the bow in place.
The cardinal was set on top of the bow using Dimensionals. I only used them on the body area because the knot met the head so I added a bit of glue to that spot. Yes, I had to get up and go 10 steps across my room and get a bottle of glue! LOL.
The words are from the "Greetings for You Mix & Match" Ephemera package. I affixed them to the circle. These words are stickers so that makes it easy to work with. Dimensionals were added to the back of the piece and the card was done.
There's only two trees in the package but I have another cardinal, I may find a stamped tree and fussy cut it to create another card similar to this one. I want to use those pieces and papers a bit more before the season is over.
Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's Christmas card,
Wanda

This is such a bright and cheerful card. I love the cardinal. We used to have a male and female cardinal that nested near our house. They were so much fun to watch, especially in the winter time when they were so visible against the snow.
