Spooky Halloween, Spooky Sweet, Halloween Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a Halloween card to share with you. In my quest to use up the Designer Series Paper (DSP) in the "Spooky Sweet" 12" x 12" package, I am getting close. From what I can figure I think there's about 4 more cards to make and then I'm just down to some cutouts left but I'm probably not going to do much with them. Perhaps put them in my parts envelope and use them another season! So onto today's card.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic Black card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left. I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock and taped it to the inside.

On the front I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of DSP and taped it to the front. On top of that is a 4-1/2" x 3-1/4" piece of DSP and that was taped to the front of the card with equal spacing all around, as much as you eye thinks it looks good. 

I cut three strips of DSP that measure 4" x 3/4" each. The center one was supposed to be 1" x 4" but I didn't have enough scraps left so I used what I had. I taped them on the front. I taped the ends ones first and then the center one.

The tree was a cutout and was fussy cut and glued in place. I glued it across the bottom and up the main part of the trunk plus up the three other branches off the trunk. I left the thinner branches to be free.

The character and candy corn were from the cutouts. I set them in place using Dimensionals. 

The circle is was made from a piece of Basic White card stock and the second smallest circle in the "Stylish Shapes" die set. Using my Blending Brush I scrubbed on some Pumpkin Pie ink on the edges and then without reinking the brush I lightly scrubbed on the rest of the circle. I set that piece in place using tape.

The bat was a die cut from the "Spooky Halloween" bundle and was cut using the die in that bundle. I set it in place using a small Dimensional. 

I took my Wink of Stella pen and colored over the bat, the candy corn, the crown and the character's clothing. And the card was done.

This was a very fun and quick card to make. I'm excited to be almost done with that package of DSP. It will be a first for me. I don't ever recall using up a package of DSP in all the years I've been stamping.
