Extraordinary Flora, Simply Said, Friendship Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a friendship card to share with you. I had found it on the internet and I had left the website where it came from open but someone (bless his heart) backed up my computer so we could see if it was able to support windows 11.  It is not so I will be getting a new computer. I am never excited about that because of all the things I need to reinstall (and the passwords). Such a pain. But on the brighter side I will have a computer that should work for another 12-15 years!  Maybe by then I'll be too old to use it! LOL  Maybe not so LOL! Anyway, please read on to see how today's card was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Shy Shamrock for the layer. Using the 3-1/2" die from the "Spotlight on Nature" set I cut it from the center of this piece.

Then I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock and textured it using the "Damask Design" embossing folder. I glued that to the Shy Shamrock piece and then that was taped to the front of the card. I set it under my stamping mat to keep flat while I worked on the circles.

I cut a Basic White circle using the same die set. This one measures about 2-3/4".  I taped it to the Shy Shamrock circle. I glued it to the front of the card about 1/2" from the edge and fold and about 1" from the top edge of the card. Again I placed it under my stamping mat while I worked on the words and flowers.

The words are from the "Simply Said" set and were stamped using Shy Shamrock ink on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock. I cut them out using a die from the "Stylish Shapes" set. Using my blending pen I picked up some Shy Shamrock ink on it and colored the edges. I didn't purchase the markers or the Blends because they don't stay around long. I just purchase the ink pads and inkers. Sometimes I don't even buy the ink pads, I'll just buy the little ink spots and inkers. I added Dimensionals to the back and set it aside.

Next I die cut the flowers from the "Extraordinary Flora" washi tape roll. I laid the purplish color section on a piece of Basic White card stock and then I cut them out using the matching die.

To assemble the flowers, I first added the word piece at about the 3 o'clock position on the circles. Then I added the large flower below the words using a Dimensional.

Glue was added to a scrap piece of paper and I dragged the pieces through it and set them in place. The original card didn't have a little flower on the word piece. I added one there because the post it tape I used stuck too firmly and tore my card stock a bit there and I just wanted to cover it up instead of make a new word piece. Once all of the flowers were glued in place the card was done.

This tape is such a fun thing to play with and there's SO many flowers and leaves on a roll. 1056 pieces to be exact!  That's a lot of fun in one roll!

This was a fun card to make and I know who's getting this one!

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's friendship card,
Wanda
