Perennial Lavender, Perennial Postage, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a birthday card to share with you. I found the card on Pinterest and thought I'd give it a try. You can see the original card by clicking here. I did make a few minor changes. Please read on to see how I made the card.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Crumb Cake card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock and taped it to the inside.

A 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Gorgeous Grape card stock was cut for the layer.  On top of that I had cut a 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Perennial Lavender" 12" x 12" package. You can get by cutting it down to 3-7/8" x 2-3/4" since half of it is hidden.

Using the second largest die from the "Perennial Postage" set I cut one from Basic White card stock. I taped it to the piece of the checkered DSP I had just cut. Again here you can get by cutting the piece so it measures 2-1/2" long.

The bottom piece was made next. The Gorgeous Grape piece was cut at 4" x 2-1/2" and the DSP from the same package was cut at 3-7/8" x 2-3/8". I taped the two pieces together and then taped it to the front of the card.

The center layers were cut at taped together. Highland Heather was used for the layer, it measures 4" x 2-5/8" and the DSP was cut at 3-7/8" x 2-1/2".  I taped it to the front of the card centering it as much as I could by eyeing it.

Next I cut a vellum circle using the 4th largest circle die in the "Stylish Shapes" set. I added a little tape to the center and set it in place on top of the Highland Heather layers. I only used a little tape because tape shoes through vellum.

I cut the Shaded Spruce leaves, Highland Heather and Gorgeous Grape flowers. I used a little bit of glue on the back and set them in place on the circle.

Using the last bit of linen thread on one of my packages I tied a double bow and glued it to the stems. I was so happy to use that thread up. One less thing out of my workroom. At this rate my workroom will be empty in 150 years! LOL

The greeting was sitting on my worktable and I thought I'd use it. One less thing on the table! I set it in place using Dimensionals.

This card had a lot of pieces and a lot of die cutting. I doubt I'd make another one because of all of the cutting that needs to be done. I like layers but I like quicker cards, even if they turn out pretty!

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's birthday card,
Wanda
