Enduring Beauty, Throughout the Year, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have another card to share with you using the "Enduring Beauty" bundle. I had stenciled several yesterday, made a card and set the rest aside. I was closing windows on my computer and saw another card I wanted to make though I wasn't sure I wanted to use two of the flowers I had colored. After realizing how it was made I saw that it's only one flower cut in half. So I just had to make it. I saw the original card here. I have only one regret, it would have been prettier in Melon Mambo, Poppy Parade, or Real Red ink. Those colors against the black would make it pop more.  Please read on to see how the card was made.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic Black card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left. I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock and taped it to the inside.

On the front of the card I cut a piece of Basic White card stock 4-7/8" x 3-3/4" and textured it using the "Painted Texture" embossing folder. Then I cut it into three equal pieces that measured 1-5/8" x 3-3/4".  Keeping the pieces in order, I glued the bottom one on first, then the top one and the middle piece last.

The flower I had made yesterday. Please refer to yesterday's post to see how it was colored in. I cut the flower in half. I took a quarter sheet of card stock and lined up half of the flower on the top edge and trimmed the leaves hanging off the side. I repeated this for the bottom piece. I glued these pieces in place on the front of the card.

The words are from the "Throughout the Year" and were stamped using black Memento ink on a scrap piece of Basic White card stock. I die cut them with the die in the "Enduring Beauty" bundle. I set the words in place using Dimensionals.

I added a couple of brass butterflies to the front and the card was done.

This was fun to make and I do think it would me SO much prettier using a color in the reds area.

Thank you SO much for taking your time to stop in and see today's birthday card,
Wanda

  1. It's a lovely card and such a fun way to use the single flower by cutting it in half!
