Softly Sophisticated, Darling Details, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I searched Pinterest to find a card using the "Softly Sophisticated" set. I found this card and you can see the original one here. I was not able to find any information on it so I had to guess on how it was made. Please read on to see how I made this card.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. I use Basic White to save on the solid colors because the white is less expensive than the colors. This way it extends my inventory of colored card stock. This card opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Lost Lagoon card stock and I taped it to the card base.

Next I cut a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of Basic White card stock and textured it using the "Softly Sophisticated" embossing folder. I glued that to the top of the Lost Lagoon piece.

A 5" x 2" piece of Mossy Meadow card stock was cut for the strip and the Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Softly Stippled" 12" x 12" package that measured 5" x 1-3/4". I taped the DSP to the Mossy Meadow strip and that was glued to the front of the card about 5/8" from the fold. 

Using a piece of Basic White card stock I die cut the scalloped rectangle using the die from the "Color & Contour" bundle. On this piece I stamped the leaves using Mossy Meadow ink. Then I stamped the flowers using Lost Lagoon ink.

The words are from the "Darling Details" and were stamped using Lost Lagoon ink. I'm thinking I probably should have used Mossy Meadow ink. Either is okay. I'm fine with how this turned out. This piece was then centered on the front of the card by eyeing it. A couple of brass butterflies from the "Brushed Brass Butterflies" package were added to the front of the card and the card was done.

I am pleased with how the cart turned out and it's ready to be signed and attached to the gift.
