Heartfelt Hexagon, Friendship Card, Get Well Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a card to share with you that I found while surfing the net. I had most of the supplies so I thought I'd go for it. You can see the original card here. Please read on to see how I made the card with the supplies I had.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Night of Navy card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left. I cut two 4" x 5-1/4" pieces of Basic White card stock, one was taped to the inside and the other was textured using the "Distressed" embossing folder and taped to the outside.

Next I cut a 2-3/4" x 4-1/2" piece of Night of Navy card stock for the layer and a 2-1/2" x 4-1/4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Countryside Inn" 12" x 12" package was taped to the top of that. What was left over from my DSP was a 1/2" x 4-3/4" strip that I used for the top of the layers.

The words are from the "Heartfelt Hexagon" set and were stamped using Night of Navy ink. I punched them out using the "Heartfelt Hexagon" punch. Dimensionals were added to the back and the piece was set in place on the front of the card.

Two pearls were added to the strip and the card was done.

It's close to the original card. I'm pleased with how it turned out and that's what's important, right?

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's friendship/get well card,
Wanda

  1. Fun layout.....I love that punch! So many of the SU sentiment stamps fit perfectly in it. The dsp is so pretty. I have it but haven't used it enough..........just not enough hours in the day!
