Go To Greetings, Nested Essentials, Perennial Lavender, Note or Friendship Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a pretty card to share with you that I found on the internet. You can see that card here. Mine is a bit different because I didn't have the same wording and I made a cutting mistake. Please read on to see how I made this card.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Highland Heather card stock. It was cut in half on the short 8-1/2" side so once cut it measured 4-1/4" x 11".  It opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top. I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock and taped it to the inside.

Next I cut the background strip. The Gorgeous Grape strip is cut at 5-1/2" x 2-1/2" and the Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Perennial Lavender" 12" x 12" package and was cut at 5-1/2" x 2-1/4". I taped the DSP to the card stock and then that was taped to the center of the card.  Did you ever have a piece of DSP that you thought was kind of (for lack of a better word) ugly and then you see it used on a card and somehow it's not so ugly anymore? Well, that's how I felt about this piece of DSP.

Next was the larger squarish panel. Mine is cut at 4-1/4" x 3-3/4".  It should have been cut at 4" x 3-3/4". SO my DSP was cut at 4" x 3-1/2" where it should have been 3-3/4" x 3-1/2".  I taped the two pieces together and then taped that to the front of the card, centering it as much as I could by eyeing it.

The ribbon end pieces of card stock were die cut using the second and third dies from the "Nested Essential" set. The large one was cut from Gorgeous Grape and the smaller one was from Highland Heather. You can die cut your Gorgeous Grape one from the center of your squarish piece before you tape the DSP in place to save on card stock. I had some scrap so I used that.

I did not have the words used on the original card so I used the "Go To Greetings" set, white embossing powder and Versa Mark. I heat set the words on the center of the Highland Heather piece. Dimensionals were added to the back of the piece and it was set in place on the larger Gorgeous Grape piece. Then Dimensionals were added to the back of that piece and it was set in place on the front of the card. I eyed the distance between the left and bottom of the squarish DSP piece.

A linen bow was made and glued to the upper left corner of the word piece. I didn't add the rhinestone but I think I may add a brass butterfly, it's thin enough to go through the mail without incident.

This was an easy card to make with lots of layers. I LOVE lots of layers.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's note/friendship card,
Wanda
