Joy of Christmas, Sparkling Snowflakes, Christmas Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have another card to share with you using the same layout as yesterday. I thought I'd make another one for two reasons. One, I still had a half a piece of textured card stock and two, I thought I could make a better card. Please read on to see how I made today's card.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic Gray card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left. I cut and taped a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock for the inside.

On the front I glued the Basic White textured strip. It measures 2-1/8" x 5-1/4" and was textured using the "Snowflake Sky" embossing folder. I prefer to glue textured card stock because I know it's going to stay. With texture you get open areas on the back that the tape won't stick to and you might not get a nice surface contact. You get the same effect with the glue but when the glue dries on the flat areas it will not come off. Just a little tip for you.

The Designer Series Paper (DSP) is from the "Joy of Christmas" 12" x 12" package and was cut at 2-3/4" x 4".  The Basic Gray layer behind it was cut at 3" x 4-1/4" and the two pieces were taped together. Dimensionals were add to the back and set in place on the front of the card centering it as much as I could by eyeing it.

The words are from the "Sparkling Snowflakes" set and were stamped using Basic Gray ink. I punched them out using the "Double Oval" punch. I also used the same punch to punch out the scalloped oval for the layer behind it. I taped the two pieces together and then set them in place on the front of the card using Dimensionals.

Three small crystal rhinestones were added to give the card a bit of a sparkle. And the card was done.

This was a very quick card to make and it was also fun to do too! Plus I got to use up some small pieces of DSP.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to see today's Christmas card,
Wanda

Such a peaceful looking card. The 2 choice colors of the back paper makes the front with the deer pop out. I like this card. Great job
