Christmas Classics, Joy of Christmas, Christmas Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a quick and easy to make card to share with you. This layout can be used with any stamp sets with larger wording. Please read on to see how the card was made.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4"x 5-1/4" piece of Real Red card stock. This is a perfect place to use one of those pieces in your stash that you die cut from the middle to save card stock. I do that a lot. I have a bunch of Garden Green ones with pieces die cut from the middle. I need to workup a card using a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Garden Green for the larger layer so I can use up some of those. They seem to accumulate this time of year!

Then I cut a 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" piece of Basic White card stock for the next layer. When I cut my piece for that size layer I tend to cut it on the other side of the mark on my cutter. What I mean here is when I set the piece on my paper cutter, the card stock is not centered on the 3-7/8" line, it's on the left side of it so my piece is cut a hair larger. That gives that layer a bit more exposure when it's taped together. Sometimes that tiny 1/8" is just too tiny.  I took this piece of Basic White and textured it using the "Snowflake Sky" embossing folder.

I taped a 2-1/4" x 3-7/8" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Joy of Christmas" 12" x 12" package.  And again here I cut the 3-7/8" on the left side of the mark on the paper cutter but only on that side, the 2-1/4" didn't need any nudge. I glued this piece to the bottom of the embossed piece.

A 1/4" x 3-7/8" strip of Garden Green card stock was cut for the area between the DSP and the embossed piece. And again, I cut the strip on the left side of the mark on the paper cutter so it was a hair longer. I glued this piece in place.

The words are from the "Christmas Classics" bundle. I stamped them using Real Red ink and die cut them using the 4th smallest die in the "Deckled Circles" set. And a Garden Green circle was cut using the 5th smallest die in the same set. I taped the circles together. Dimensionals were added to the back and the piece was set in place on the front of the card. It's centered from left to right but moved up a bit from dead center .

I forgot I had the "Loose Holly Gems & Sequins" and I thought it would dress the front up a bit. That area in the falling snow looked like it needed something. I glued them in place and the card was done.

This was a super quick and easy card to make. I'm not overly thrilled with it, it's kind of plain looking to me.  I was tired today when I made it. I had gotten back from my final craft fair for the year and I'm exhausted. So my card is not fabulous but it's done. I do try to make a card a day and if I can make one from now until the end of the year I will have made 364 cards for 2023! I missed one day last month after a craft fair. Hmmm, seems like a theme going here. I must be getting to old to do a craft fair and make a card in the same day!  A nap sounded better than making a card that day! LOL

I do thank you for taking your time to stop in and see today's Christmas card,
Wanda
