Christmas Classics, Christmas Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. Today I have a card to share with you that I found on Pinterest. I thought it was so pretty and simple looking. It has a nice wintry look to it that I just had to give it a try. You can see the original card here. I couldn't find any instructions on how to make it so please read on to see how I made it.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. It opens on the right and the fold is on the left.  A 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Shaded Spruce card stock was cut for the layer. When I cut it I lined the edge up on my paper cutter so I couldn't see the 4" mark on it. I covered that mark which allowed the piece to be just a hair bigger. And for the Basic White top layer I cut it at 3-7/8" x 4-1/8" and I moved the card stock so I could see the line but I made sure I could see all of the line. I moved it just enough to the right to make it a hair smaller than you would if you cut it on the line. I call this nudging. Larger you nudge to the left and smaller you nudge to the right. You don't need to memorize that because I always bring it up when I do it.

I die cut the square framed piece using the die in the "Christmas Classics" bundle using Basic White card stock.

The Basic White layer was stamped using the branch from the "Christmas Classics" bundle and Shaded Spruce ink. I stamped the image once and then used it two more times without reinking. I repeated that for the other corner.

I set the die cut piece on top to see where the words should go. I stamped them using Pecan Pie ink. You can also use Versa Mark and gold embossing powder. I was too lazy to walk across the room and get what I needed to emboss.

Once the words were stamped I set the die cut piece in place using pieces of Dimensionals. Then I taped the Basic White piece to the Shaded Spruce piece. Dimensionals were added to the back of the Shaded Spruce and that was set in place on the front of the card base.

A few gold pearls from the "Blooming Pearls" pack were added and the card was finished.  Isn't it pretty? I'm so happy I ran across it and even happier that I was able to make it and share the instructions with you.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's Christmas card,
Wanda
