Cheerful Daisies, Fresh as a Daisy, Thank You Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello and welcome to my blog. While looking for the card I posted yesterday, I ran across this one. You can see the original card here. I didn't find any directions so please read on to see how I made the card.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic white card stock.  I took a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Fresh as a Daisy" 12" x 12" set. It's the backside of a floral sheet. I taped it to the front of the card base.

Next I die cut the scalloped rectangle from the "Color & Contour" bundle. I wasn't sure what size rectangle was used. I counted the bumps but as it turns out the larger one just has larger bumps but just as many.  UGH. SO, I guessed on which one. I used the second largest one but I should have used the largest one. I didn't notice that until the piece was put together. But I just changed where the words went and it worked out.

After die cutting the scalloped rectangle using Basic White card stock, I cut a piece of DSP from the "Fresh as a Daisy" package to fit inside the stitched area of the rectangle. I taped that piece inside the rectangle. The last two bumps on the top, not counting the corner bump, I cut the piece on the left edge.

The daisies were cut out next. Both the daisy piece with the three daisies joined together, and the pieces that fit on the tops were cut at the same time.

I stamped the centers of each flower using Crushed Curry ink. Then the top pieces were glued on.

I tied the bow using some white ribbon (retired) and some linen twine/thread was tied to create another bow. I used a glue dot to hold the twine ribbon to the white ribbon.

The words are from the same "Cheerful Daisies" set and were stamped using black Memento ink on scrap piece of Basic White card stock.

Now it's time to assemble the card. I set the scalloped rectangle piece in place using Dimensionals. They are about 1/2" from the top edge. Then the ribbons were set in place. I used a glue dot a bit off center and added glue to the center. I wanted that bow to stay in place. I tucked part of the bow under the rectangle a bit.

The flowers were set on next. I used pieces of Dimensionals on the wider areas so they wouldn't show through.

The word piece was trimmed to 3/8" x  3-7/8. I snipped the ends. When snipping my ends I had trouble wrapping it around my brain to snip the ends in the same direction so I had to make a second one, almost cutting it wrong too. But I caught myself before it happened again! UGH!  I added Dimensional pieces behind it and set them in place on the lower part of the card. And the card was done.

This was a fun card to make and even with using the smaller size rectangle, it still turned out nice.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's thank you card,
Wanda
