Best Day, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello. I'm so happy you are here so I can share with you how I made this fun birthday card. I just love this cupcake kitty image.  Please read on to see how the card was made.
The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Highland Heather card stock. The card opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut 2 pieces of card stock that measure 4" x 5-1/4" each. One for the front and one for the inside. I taped the inside piece in place.

Next I took the front piece and using my Blending Brush I scrubbed on some Highland Heather ink in the lower right and upper left areas of it.

Then using Highland Heather ink and the small swirls and dots image I randomly stamped it on the piece.

The triangles were easy to make. You just take a 2" x 2" square of Designer Series Paper (DSP) and cut it in half along the diagonal. My DSP is from the "Dainty Designs" 12" x 12" package. And the layer behind the triangles is a 2-1/4" x 2-1/4" piece of Highland Heather card stock cut the same way. I taped the triangles together and then taped them to the upper right and lower left corners.

The kitty is from the "Best Day" stamp set using black Memento ink and was fussy cut out. I colored the cat in using my light and dark Granite Gray Blends pens. The eyes were colored in using the light Balmy Blue Blends pen. The cupcake holder was colored in using the light Blushing Bride Blends pen. The nose of the cat was colored in using the light Flirty Flamingo Blends pen. The hat, dots, balloon and bow tie were colored in using the light Highland Heather and So Saffron Blends pens. Dimensionals were added to the back and the piece was set in place on the lower right side of the card.

The words are from the same "Best Day" set and were stamped using Highland Heather ink. I used the 1-3/8" circle die and the 1-1/2" scalloped die from the "Layering Circles" die set. I taped the layers together and then set them in place using Dimensionals.  And the card was done.

Isn't it cute?  I just love that kitty!!

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's birthday card,
Wanda
