Best Day, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Hello there! I'm happy to see you made it here today so I can share with you the birthday card I made using the cat from the "Best Day" set.

To start out, the base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. My card opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

Next I cut a piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) for the left panel. It measures 5-3/8" x 2-1/8".  My DSP is from the "Dandy Designs" 12" x 12" package. My piece was just sitting on my worktable so I thought I'd use it on a card. There's lots of other designs of DSP that will work. Find one and cut it to size! I taped my piece down on the left side about 1/8" from the top, bottom and side.

Next I stamped the cat from the "Best Day" set using black Memento ink. I fussy cut it out and then colored it in using my Blends. I used light Granny Apple Green, light and dark Blushing Bride and dark Daffodil Delight because my light was dried up. I don't understand how that happened. I'm careful with them. I may set it on the brush tip end and see if the liquid inside might run to that end of the pen. It's worth a try, isn't it? Once the coloring was done I added Dimensionals to the back and set it aside.

Then I took out my "Layering Circles" die set and used the second largest circle and die cut one from a piece of Basic White card stock. And then I took the second largest scalloped circle and die cut one from a piece of Granny Apple Green card stock.  I taped the two layers together and added Dimensionals to the back. I set it aside.

The words are from the same "Best Day" set and were stamped using black Memento ink. I love these words, it's such a perfect saying.

The circle was set in place on the front of the card, centering it as much as you can by eyeing it. And then the cat piece was set on top of that.  The card was done, as quick as that!!

This was a fun card to make and I do miss my light Daffodil Delight Blends pen. I have a few I need to replace but first I am going to try setting it upright on the brush tip end and see if that doesn't help.  I'm not out anything if it doesn't, right?

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop in and see today's birthday card,
Wanda
