Framed Florets, Hues of Happiness, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

I'm biding my time until my Stampin' Up! order arrives with all the new things to play with. SO today I made this card. It's quick and easy too.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock.

I cut a 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece of Basic White card stock but when I cut it I cut it just shy of those two measurements. I will just cut the piece on the shorter side of the line on my cutter.

Then I taped a 2" x 5-1/4" piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the "Hues of Happiness" 12" x 12" package to the right side of the Basic White piece.

On the front of the card I die cut the arched area using the die from the "Basic Borders" die set. I kept the scrap piece that came off the edge so I could use it on my 2" x 5-1/2" piece of Melon Mambo. I wanted the arch to match as much as possible. Then I die cut the Melon Mambo piece.

I taped the Melon Mambo piece to the front of the card. I put tape on the long edge of the Melon Mambo piece and on the two short sides. Then I put tape on the back of the Basic White arched area and lined the Melon Mambo piece up to the Basic White card front and pressed down.

Next I added tape to the inside of the front flap and then slid the 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece inside and closed the card.

The words are from the "Framed Florets" set and were stamped using Melon Mambo ink. They could be stamped before the card is put together but I didn't and it worked out just fine.

This was a fun, quick and easy card to make. Plus you get to use up more of those thin scrap DSP strips!

Thank you SO much for taking your time to stop in and see today's Birthday card,
Wanda

  3. Love the curved edge of the solid card stock. That package of dsp is SO pretty! I still have some and SU keeps coming out with more and more! I need to learn to shut my eyes. (And yes, I already ordered the Dainty Flowers dsp!)
