Hand-Penned Petals, Many Messages, Color & Contour, Stampin' Up! 2021-2022 Catalog

I'm still trying to use my stamp sets that I bought this spring to make fall cards.  I even managed to make the Designer Series Paper (DSP) into more of a fall look. Read on to see how I did it.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Mossy Meadow.  This card was cut in half on the short side. It measured 4-1/4" x 11" after it was cut.  Then it was folded in half so this card opens at the bottom and the fold is at the top.

A 4-1/8" x 5-3/8" piece of Cajun Craze for the next layer.

The DSP is from the "Hand-Penned" 12" x 12" package and was cut at 3-7/8" x 5-1/8".  I took my Old Olive Blends pen and colored over the leaves to make them darker. And I also used my dark Cajun Craze Blends pen and colored in the orangish colors on the DSP too.  Now it had a more of a fall look to it.  Then I took some retired ribbon I had and wrapped it around the front of the card and taped the ends on the back to hold them in place.  Then I taped the DSP to the Cajun Craze piece and then I taped that to the card base.

I die cut a piece of vellum using the second largest rectangle die in the set. It's a cute die too, it's got the scalloped edges but it also had a dotted inner frame. If you click on the photo you'll be able to see a closeup.

I stamped the flower image from the "Hand-Penned Petals" set using black Memento ink on Basic White card stock.  I colored the flowers using both light and dark Old Olive Blends pen for the leaves. The flowers were colored in using both light and dark Pumpkin Pie Blends and the dark Cajun Craze Blends pen. The centers were colored in using the light Crushed Curry Blends pen.  I added Dimensionals to the piece and set it in place on top of the Vellum. I waited to add the Vellum because I wanted to make sure I knew where to put the Dimensionals so they wouldn't show.  I turned the Vellum over and I added the Dimensionals over the areas where the stamped image is.  I set the piece in place on top of the DSP.

The words are from the "Many Messages" set and were stamped on Basic White card stock using black Memento ink.  The "Many Messages" set has a die cut that will cut out ever message all at one time. Kind of fun but I didn't have a use for 18 left over messages done on Basic White card stock in black Memento ink. So I just took a scrap piece of card stock and inked up the area I wanted and stamped it. Then I just die cut over that area.  I set the words in place using double-sided tape on the left side and a couple of small Dimensionals on the right.

I colored some rhinestones using the dark Cajun Craze Blends pen and set them in place on top of the Vellum.

A 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock was added to the inside of the card and the card was done.

This was a very fun and easy card to make. The coloring of the DSP took a little while but it worked and I was happy with how it turned out. I had never thought to color over my DSP before. Now I know I can!

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by today,
Wanda
