Frightfully Cute, Kid Friendly Halloween Card, 2021 Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog

In the package of "Cute Halloween" Designer Series Paper (DSP) there's an adorable bat sheet with several bats on it. I thought it was such a cute design but I haven't used it much. I'm not sure if it's because I can't think of what to do with it or if I'm secretly hoarding it. LOL

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. My card opens at the bottom and the fold is at the top.

I cut a 1-3/4" x 5-1/2" piece of the DSP that was mostly black on the one side. You can use a piece of Basic Black card stock if you like. I was going to until I saw that strip in my DSP stack. It was the perfect size and I thought I should use it up.  Then I cut a strip of the colorful dotted DSP to measure 1-5/8" x 5-1/2" and I taped the two pieces together.

They were then taped to the front of the card about 3/8" up from the bottom. I didn't press down on the upper right side of that strip because I needed to slip a circle under it a bit.

The words are from the "Frightfully Cute" set and were stamped using black Memento ink.

I fussy cut the large bat and then I saw the two smaller ones that were going to get tosses into recycling because the piece I had wasn't good for anything, so more fussy cutting.

I punched a 1-3/4" circle and I took my blending brush and brushed on some Flirty Flamingo ink. I set the large bat in place on it using Dimensionals. I set the bat high up on the circle. I added tape to the back of the circle and slipped it under the DSP strip until the bottom of the bat was even with the edge of the strip.

Then I brushed on some more Flirty Flamingo ink for the other two little bats and they were set in place with a Dimensional. And the card was done.

This was a very quick and easy card to make. It's very kid friendly and it was fun to put together.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and see today's kid friendly Halloween card,
Wanda
