Blossoms in Bloom, Fine Art Floral, Thinking of You Card, Stampin' Up!

I was hunting for a card that would allow me to use up some Designer Series Paper (DSP) scrap strips and this is what I came up with. You can see the original card here. I changed the words and paper.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. This card opens on the bottom and the fold is on the top. The sheet of card stock was cut in half on the short side so it measured 4-1/4" x 11" before folding in half.

I had a 2" x 5-1/2" strip of DSP from the "Fine Art Floral" package and I taped it to a 2-1/4" x 5-1/2" piece of Bumblebee card stock. The original card used gold foil card stock. I didn't have enough on hand to do this so I opted for colored card stock instead.  It would also look pretty using Poppy Parade, Balmy Blue or even Mossy Meadow. I taped the DSP to the Bumblebee strip and then I glued it in place on the front of the card about 5/8" from the left side.

The words are from the "Blossoms in Bloom" set and were stamped on a piece of Basic White card stock using Mossy Meadow ink. I die cut them with the single wider rectangle die in the "Rectangle Stitched" dies. For those of you who don't have the dies, this piece measures 1-1/4" x 1-5/8".  And the Bumblebee layer was cut at 1-1/2" x 1-7/8".  The two layers were taped together and Dimensionals were added to the back and set in place on the card and the card was done.

This is a quick and easy no frills card but you can sure get rid of a lot of your strips of DSP. Just measure how thin your strips are and make your layer 1/4" wider and tape them together. You can whip up a lot of cards in no time and think of all the scraps or even just retired pieces of DSP you can use up!

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and see this quick and easy card,
Wanda
