Positive Thoughts, Artistic Dies, Sympathy Card, 2021-2022 Stampin' Up! Catalog

I found today's card on Pinterest and thought it was SO pretty. I had most of the stuff to make it so I decided to go forward with it.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Shaded Spruce card stock.

The Designer Series Paper (DSP) is from the "Expressions in Ink" 12" x 12" package. I cut a my piece from a full sheet. I cut a 4" strip and I cut that strip in half at 6". I cut it at 6" because I wanted to get most of the design in the piece. I trimmed the top so it measured 5-1/4".  I taped it to the front of the card base.

The words are from the "Positive Thought" set and were stamped on a piece of Just Jade card stock using Versa Mark. And then it was embossed using gold embossing powder. I die cut it using the 1-7/8" circle die. And the layer behind it was cut using the 2-1/8" circle from a scrap piece of Shaded Spruce card stock. I taped the two circles together and added Dimensionals to the back.

I didn't have the leaf die that was used on the original card so I took the leaf die from the "Artistic" dies package and cut a gold foil piece. I cut the leaves apart and set them in place on the front of the card. I set the circle over the area and slipped the leaves under for placement. Once I had them were I liked them, I taped them in place.  Then I removed the backing on the Dimensionals and I set the circle in place.

I used different embellishments too. I took the gold metalic pearls and set three of them on the front of the card.  A 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White was added to the inside of the card and the card was done.

This was a very fun card to make. I LOVE this DSP, it's so rich looking and very unique.  I'd love to give that technique a try. I believe it's alcohol ink. It's probably done on Yupo paper. It's a waterproof paper and it's kind of expensive.  But you'd only need to make one fabulous design and then make photo copies, right?  I think I will pass on that and just buy more DSP! LOL

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and see today's quick card,
Wanda
