Forever Fern, Peaceful Moments, Wedding Card, 2021-2022 Stampin' Up! Catalog

The day before a wedding, my husband not only decides he wants to go but he needs a card. Oh and it wasn't the day, it was the evening.  So like a good trooper, I went into my workroom and worked on a card for him. It's kind of like when you send a kid to their bedroom.  I'm in my happy place!!! So here's the card I made.

Because it was for a wedding, I was thinking of Basic White card stock and some white glitter paper and/or some shimmer paper. I wanted to keep it all white but it didn't work out. Well, it may have if I would have used embossing powder.  So switched gears and went for the subtle colors.  I'll save the rest of those white pieces i was working with for a future card or card parts.

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock.

The piece on the top is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White that was textured using the "Ornate Floral" embossing folder. I glued it on top of the card base.

I had die cut two sets of leaves using some shimmery white card stock. That card stock has a bit of a yellow tint to it. Maybe so it could be used on the white or vanilla backgrounds.  Anyway, I set those leaves down in place first.

Then I stamped the larger one piece leaf using the new Soft Succulent ink. I die cut it and set it on top of the shimmery white leaves.

The wider leaves image was stamped using Soft Sea Foam ink. I stamped two of them and die cut both of them out. I set them on top of the Soft Succulent image. As I was setting these in place, I was using the stems for the pivotal point. The stems all touched each other or close to it.

The yellow leaves are stamped using the new Pale Papaya ink.  I also stamped and die cut two of them. One of them I had cut into two pieces so I could have it be smaller and tuck it behind the Soft Sea Foam leaves. I had then taped all of these pieces in place once I got them were I thought they looked the best.

The words are from the "Peaceful Moments" and were stamped using Soft Succulent ink. Then they were punched out using the "Everyday Label" punch.  I set the words in place using Dimenisonals. I was careful not to put one right in the middle where all of the leaf stems met. They needed to be strategically places so they don't get on a pile of stems. You don't want a big bump in the middle of your word panel. Once the words were in place the card was done. But I think it could have stood to have some rhinestones added or some of the new "Genial Gems".  But it's done and gone.

It was a fun card to make though I would like to find something so I could make an all white on white card (without using embossing powder).

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to see this not all white wedding card,
Wanda
