Forever Fern, Peaceful Moments, Birthday Card, Stampin' Up!

Today's card wasn't going to be this one. I'm not sure what I was looking for yet but when I opened up my computer and saw this card I decided to go with it. You can see the original card here. I REALLY like this set and it's probably going to retire next year, so I want to make sure I get a lot of use out of it before I shelve it and forget about it.  I maybe will dust it off once in a great while and use it but usually when they retire, I pretty much forget about them because I have more newer ones to play with.   So here's how I made this card.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Basic White card stock. This card opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I stamped the leaves from the "Forever Fern" set using Old Olive ink. Then I die cut them with the matching dies. I set them on top of the card base so I could see where to stamp the third branch of leaves.

I set them back on top of the newly stamped leaves to see where to stamp the dots.

The words are from the Peaceful Moments" set and were stamped using Basic Gray ink. I punched them out using the "Label Me Fancy" punch. I used a scrap piece to make this label.

The two die cut leaf sets were put in place using Dimensionals.

Then the words were set in place using Dimensionals on the edges and double sided tape on the center area.

A few silver "Metallic Pearls" were set in place on the front of the card and the card was done.

Today's card was very quick and easy to make. I wasn't thrilled with how it turned out so I cut the front of the card off and trimmed it so I could add an Old Olive layer to it to brighten it up a bit. There was just too much white around the images and it seemed a bit blah.  I like the looks of the redo much better. I have attached both photos so you can see what I saw when I decided it needed something more. What do you think?  I do like it a whole lot better.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and see both versions of today's card,

Wanda
