Hand-Penned Petals, Peaceful Moments, Thinking of You Card

I LOVE the Designer Series Paper (DSP) "Hand-Penned Designs" that goes with the "Hand-Penned Petals" stamp set.  I often wish that Stampin' Up! would make new papers to go with the stamp sets they carry over from the previous year or from their mini catalogs.  Here's something you've heard from me before (and probably say yourself too), I'm going to use all the papers in this pack! There's not a single image in the package that I don't like so I don't see any reason why I won't use them all.  But yet by the end of the catalog I still have a half a package left.  I'm really going to challenge myself to use this package up.  Now it's not going to be used up very quickly if I only use 2" at a time!! LOL

The base of my card is a folded half-sheet of Soft Sea Foam card stock. This card opens on the right and the fold is on the left.

I cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Soft Sea Foam card stock and textured it using the "Painted Texture" embossing folder.  I glued it to the front of the card. I also cut a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Basic White card stock and taped it to the inside.

I cut a 2" x 4-3/4" piece of the "Hand-Penned Designs" DSP and taped it to a 2-1/4" x 5" piece of Misty Moonlight card stock.  I glued the strip to the front of the card about 1/4" from the top, left side and bottom of the textured card stock.

The words are from the "Peaceful Moments" set and were stamped on a piece of Basic White card stock using Misty Moonlight ink.  I die cut it using the second smallest stitched oval die.  I used the blending brush and colored the edges of the oval. I added Dimensionals to the back and set it aside.

I took a glue dot and put it in the center of the area where the words are going to be set. I took some Baker's Twine and made some loops, sticking it to the glue dot as I made each loop.  Then I removed the backing on the oval and set it in place on the front of the card.

I took three of the new "Genial Gems" and placed them on the front of the card. These little gems are so pretty, they have glitter inside each one.

This was a fun and easy card to make.  I need to do a little shopping and find some more word sets. I only have a few and I could use more.

Thank you SO very much for taking your time to stop by and see this sweet thinking of you card,
Wanda
