Forever Fern, Framed for You, Thinking of You Card

I found a pretty card on Pinterest and thought I'd make my version of it. I was drawn to the colors and the leaves.  You can see the original card here.  And here's how I did mine.

The base of the card is a folded half-sheet of Whisper White card stock.  This card opens at the bottom and the fold is at the top.

There are three layers of card stock on top of the card base. The first is a 4" x 5-1/4" piece of Night of Navy. The second is a 3-3/4" x 5" piece of Smoky Slate. And the Whisper White piece was cut at 3-1/2" x 4-3/4". I taped the layers together.

I die cut the lacy rectangle from the "Ornate Layers" dies using Whisper White card stock. The center of the piece is a piece of Sahara Sand card stock that was die cut using the smallest "Stitched Rectangle" in the group of 8 dies. I taped it to the center of the lacy piece.

I die cut some leaves/branches from the "Forever Fern" bundle. I die cut a plain Whisper White and a Night of Navy one.

Then I stamped the rounded leaves one using Night of Navy ink and then die cut them.

I also stamped Sahara Sand and Smoky Slate leaves/branches and die cut them out too.

To assemble the card, I added the plain Night of Navy leaves first. I set the lacy piece over the area where it was to go so I could see where I could add some tape and not have to think about the tape being exposed. After adding the tape, I set the Night of Navy piece down and then the Sahara Sand colored ones down and then the Smoky Slate piece was set down. I did add some tape to the back of the leaves so it would stick to the Night of Navy piece.

Then the lacy piece was taped down.

The Whisper White leaf bunch was taped down on top of the lacy piece.

The Night of Navy stamped piece was added.

The words were added using Night of Navy ink. They are from the "Framed for You" set.  I realized I need more sympathy and thinking of you cards.  I tend to make a lot of birthday cards and forget about the others.

To hide the stems I punched out a Whisper White flower from the "Small Blooms" punch. I put it in the palm of my hand and pressed the center with the eraser part of a pencil to make the flower cup some. I set the flower in place using a small Dimensional. A pearl was added to the center of the flower and also a couple more were added to the card. and the card was done.

This card has lots of parts to it but it was SO worth it.  I really like this set/bundle and have had so much fun with it.

Thank you ever SO much for taking the time to stop by today and have a look,
Wanda
